Congrats Steve, nice one.

A little ahead of you. PDI complete (only took 3 days!), & car being collected this afternoon.
He's asked for a midday pickup tomorrow so that they can spend a good chunk of the morning making it 'perfect' for me. We'll see ;)

22 1/2 hours to go but I'm not counting of course
good luck tomorrow :)

Woohoo! Congratulations Colin!

I've already put over 100 miles on mine though sunshine and monsoon conditions ( very carefully!!!) no mishaps though ( rain and snow mode is your friend when you're not used to the car!)

Loving it, especially the sound :D

Cheers guys. Got him to send me a couple of photos to keep me from going down to look at her.
Pics was her getting valeted. I asked if that meant that she'd be ready early & the reply was no.... "the guy is working on yours non-stop to make sure she's perfect".
Excited ain't the word.

Good to hear that you guys are enjoying them though. Me tomorrow :)

They are amazing cars, can't stop going out for a spin. I am wondering if a boiler will fit in the boot. Seems a shame to get in the van when the car will be left at home.

Hi everyone,

Thought I'd post in this thread finally as have placed my Mustang order today! To say I am thrilled would be an understatement.

I've been holding off ordering as I don't want my car registered until after 1 April 2017 when the new car tax rules come in. My expectation is that cars registered after this date with their lower annual tax of ÂŁ140 will be worth a lot more come resale time.

I was also pushed into ordering after the result of the Referendum, with the pound devaluing sharply against the dollar it can only be a matter of time before the price of these beauties goes up again!

So I called my local dealer today and placed my order, locking into the current low price and he has agreed the car won't be registered until after next April. I really agonised over what colour to get, it looks fantastic in every colour. In the end I played it safe, my last four cars have been black as I just love the look of black cars, especially with an aggressive body shape like the 'stang. So I've ordered in black with the custom pack.

I've already bought a personalised reg for the car - MU66 CLE. Thanks to this forum I was alerted to the opportunity when the new reg numbers came out earlier this year and was able to pounce quickly!

In terms of mods, I'm definitely getting a Roush Axle Back system fitted. I'd also like to get some spacers fitted just to get the wheels flush with the arches - any advice on options would be gratefully received.

I'm also planning in getting some silver stripes fitted, I guess I'll need to find somewhere local to make and fit them for me. Also, does anyone know what width stripe you go for the classic 'GT' look. I don't like the narrow, fading ones that Ford offer as an option.

Anyway, that's enough from me, now the long wait begins!

Welcome aboard !

I don't think I'd have the will power to let it sit in the dealers compound for couple of months though - cars currently seem to be taking 7 - 8 months from order so it'll probably get there in January :eyebulge:

Mustang V8 5.0 GT DIB due sometime soon hopefully!
Visited the dealer with the gent who's doing my detailing (Barry @ Top Car Detailing) on Friday - took all the protective coverings etc off.

Thankfully the panel alignments and paintwork etc all look good (touch wood), there's a tiny misalignment on the boot - millimeters differential from right to left - but nothing that will cause damage to the paintwork, and only noticeable when running your finger over, not from sight.

Then nipped in again on Saturday to put the plates on, pay final balance (less part-ex) etc. Was fortunate enough to bump into fellow forum member angry343 which was nice too (both of us armed with Manders checklist )

Off to collect the 'Wiggstang' (as she's been Christened by my God-daughter) this morning - cant wait!

Then she's straight into the detailor. For those who are interested check out @topcardetailing (twitter) or @top_car_detailing (instagram), as I'm sure Barry will be posting a fair few picture and videos of the entire process.

Cheers Guys!
