Mine has also left Southampton. Which should mean it's alread at my dealer! Going in tomorrow to sort paperwork out.

Can not believe that there are still cars at Liverpool waiting when their boat arrived before the freedom. It's an utter shambles. It's lucky we are all buying these cars as they are mustangs and NOT because they are a ford.
Won't ever buy another ford again.
Hey Jim, back in Baltimore we joked that you could beat me to the dealer as mine sailed away in the Fedora leaving yours behind.
Mines still in transit so look out the window mate... think I see some flying pigs

Yep.

Remember that I have bought from a local Ford dealer who in turn ordered through Gowrings. They in turn have forbidden me to contact them direct & have to go through my local. Kinda makes things even harder :frusty:
Can't fault my local though.. they're been brilliant.

Even if my car beats Jims by a day it doesn't really matter. The fact is that this should never have happened in the first place. Don't ship them to Liverpool unless you have a contingency plan organised. Simple but apparently not.

Oh well, we'll all laugh about this one day

Ah yes, I remember now! Well, Gowrings sound like they're trying to fob you off, which isn't good. I'd just call them and ask if a Mustang arrived (with your spec), they should be able to answer general queries. or if mustangs ordered through gowrings by another dealer go to gowrings or straight to the dealership you ordered at - I'd assume the former and then to gowrings!!!

Liverpool was a contingency because they missed a delivery from zeebrugge to Southampton (a lot of cars missed this, because they weren't able to be booked on), the contingency was to put them on a boat to Liverpool so that people behind in the process, could continue to move through it, thus keeping things moving.

Have you tried asking your local dealership to contact Gowrings about it?

Trust me Steve, I have done everything. Was over my local dealers this morning whilst he was on the phone to them. No car. No idea. Still 7th July.

Insurance, tax, registration, finance...... all done.

They're contacting them again in the morning (unless by some miracle Gowrings ring them) to try to push for a Saturday delivery to me (car is being collected by my local first). If not, it'll be Monday.
Kinda chilled now that I have a Sat or Mon date. I know its imminent so all good.

I'm just pi**ed at the Liverpool shipment without organising transport part. Also, forgive me for saying this, but if it was your car up there.... I think you'd have blown a proverbial gasket by now! ;)

If my car was there I'd have done the same as I did in Southampton and be a whiney lil b1tch and force my car to be bought to me as quick as possible... funny how quick people will do things when they want to get rid of you ;).

Sounds like you've done a lot, long turn around from Liverpool to dealer... not good process wise which sucks :(. Shouldn't even need to be in any docks for more than a few hours just for security checks (Only thing done at docks) and then logged and booked onto a transporter...

Think you've got extra delays because you've got a middle man.

That made me laugh - we all know it's true :D

On another note I have seen it, it's real !! (if a bit grubby at the mo), paid for it and picking it up on Thursday :headbang:

Will leave the full @Manders Mustang checklist until Thursday but on a cursory look all seems good. Panel gaps look OK, all the right bits, right colour and no visible scratches or paint defects. Not checked the underseal (and frankly I probably won't bother)

This is going to be a long 48 hours.....

Wife has a Ford, and i was thinking of a Transit for my business. I will certainly think twice now.off thread i know, but we have a couple vw transporters which I think are over rated and over priced.

I have a transit custom. It's actually been an amazing van. I don't get the choice of what I drive tho.
