As I have said previously it's the lack of information that has turned what should be a pleasurable and not inexpensive experiance into a frustrating grind. Hopefully it will be worth it in the end.

Personally, I'm content the order is in for my ideal car and perfect spec. Most of the car is in the bank already, so any extra I can save before I get her helps reduce any finance contribution. This car will be a keeper for me so I can wait. Not easily wait, but wait...

I think it would be good if the online tracking on the cotus.ford.com site gave a lot more information. Just being shown a status of in transit for months on end isn't very helpful...

Mine is showing as in transit even though it is sitting outside my house

It would seem that they don't know their arse from their elbow.
I think Ford have been shocked by the amount of cars that they have sold in the UK and OZ etc, they had a process all set up, which now cant handle the volume of cars that are being made RHD. By not even bothering to move the handbrake you saw how much Ford cared about the RHD sales.
I have been told that there are certain days where the RHD are made but the LHD does take priority.
I think once Ford get your deposit that is all they care about, and for the dealerships and car salesman who work on sales, selling a car which will be in the showroom 6 to 12 months down the line, will be forgotten about.
If i had gone RHD I could not have handled this aggro, and lack of info. you are not buying a cheap car.
I would have bought the car I saw in the showroom. I also think some salesman do care and are actually Mustang fans, but this is all new to them.
When I had the photo shoot at Trustford in Dagenham, most of them had never seem an old Mustang.
The S197 got a lot of attention.
I feel sorry for the 2 girls, who seem to care and must be overrun with enquiries from stressed buyers.
With the 2016, 2017 cars arriving in the UK, I have heard "rumours" from people in the know, that Ford are now looking to make the car more RHD and move the handbrake and other little things
of course the proof is in the pudding.
I really do admire you lot on here for your sense of humour and your patience :headbang:

Mine arrived at the dealers yesterday, stage 1 of extras being done today then stage 2 on Tuesday. Picking it up 10am Wednesday then straight to exhaust fitters after a "gentle" drive from London to Wiltshire.

A pretty fair and comprehensive summary on all points.

I for one am really glad I happened across this forum. It has been an incredible resource for shedding light on what to expect, and a really friendly environment in which to ask questions without fear of people passing judgement etc.

Its also nice to know we're all going through the same emotions of the waiting process, and that we've got a lot to look forward to when our cars arrive!:amen:

Nothing too ground breaking, will post pictures from the showroom on Wednesday. Most of my other mods will be done when I get back and will probably take Thursday off. The likes of Steeda Clutch spring, Steeda hood struts, LED's for interior, DRL, side lights and reverse, Lloyds boot mat, UPR catch can, GT350 Steering Wheel, diode dynamics LED side markers (dark smoke), SOLO Mach XV Exhaust, Black Gloss 5.0 badges and Black Gloss Pony's, Non GT rear deck lid and some more iv'e forgotten :eye bulge: Same stuff as US/UK guys are doing then after this it will be onto Springs or Coil overs, spacers and BMR + Steeda stuff etc etc to sort handling. Then, well who's knows it never stops does it? Sorry for the ramble :headbonk:

I don't know why some people still go on about the "RHD handbrake" issue... my MG TF had the handbrake in exactly the same place as the mustang, and I find it easy to use, and it doesn't bother my wife at all.... I don't think it makes any difference which site it is on.

How wide is the centre console?
The handbrake is on the "wrong" side on my 2000 Mustang, but the console is fairly narrow so it's not a big stretch. S550 is a much wider car.
