very impressive Centurion07 that does rival the EB!

Some stats from my NC500 adventure...
Total miles: 2100
Overall average mpg: 35.4
Highest range seen: 461 miles
Peak mpg: something around 37!
Fuel: all regular
Overall average since new: 32.6 (9600 miles)

I'm still well impressed with that. Admittedly there were a lot of motorway miles, but when I got the chance, the car was pushe hard. Sport+ mode too. What I like is that it hits the quoted average from Ford which I wasn't expecting.

Those v8's saw some staggering mpg too though. Stevec even was hovering around the 30 mark until he went out with Mac & Gibbo for the day

The M3 averaged 28mpg for that trip, and well you seen how it was being driven. :D

On the motorway on the way back, consistent 80-90mph was returning 36-38mpg, which considering its a 2002 car with 380BHP, really not so bad at all. :)

On some segments of the trip I was making fuel it was so efficient!

Wow! My boggo e36 2.5 from 1997 only gets about 25 mpg in those same motorway conditions.

Yeah she is an absolute gem of a motor, 8000rpm, 380BHP from a 3.2l and returns damn good economy on a run, though it is around 1400kg with me in it. So not heavy at all due to all the weight reduction.

I still think 666mac ejected his body parts at me on purpose to stop me overtaking him, be no chance of that though now, he has since added 300 more ponies under his hood. :D

P.S. Economy will be less though now, NC500 was done on 3.62 diff, its now got a 3.91 in it, shorter ratios, faster but a few mpg less on a run.

Hello all. In my GT Convertible I'm getting around 14 mpg around town. Best so far was a 300 mile round trip to Sheffield and averaged 26.5mpg! I don't hang around so was pleased with that. Running exclusively on super unleaded so far with a mix of vpower and sainsbury's (BP ultimate). Got a k&n panel filter and running Borla Atak axle backs.

Is the MPG readout on the dash recalibrated to UK Gallons? I remember my S197 used to tell lies over here

Yes.

Go back to the previous page and I posted a link on how to recalibrate the fuel computer so it's accurate.

Mine was quite a way out and since calibration is within half an MPG every time.

Since the remap it seems only a tenth or two out so as accurate as it's going to get now.

Hi all,

Just wondering how much difference running the engine in makes to MPG. Mine has less than 100 miles on the clock, and is averaging 15ish at the moment. Not too bothered, but would be interested to know if that's likely to change as the engine beds in.

It'll get better, you'll see high 20's low 30's once 'run' in and on good runs. I was averaging 12 when I left the dealership last year  Got an average of 27.something on a trip to Lake Garda and back last year, so don't panic ;)

Your commute, if relatively short, cold weather and enthusiastic driving will kill the mpg, but on the last point, will induce loads of :D

Ha ha, thanks Good to know! Hoping mpg will be fairly similar to my V8 S4 once it's run in.
