^^ what he says, I'll be pretty happy @ high teens - low twenties around town, that's what I'm expecting.

The killer is short journeys when cold, even ecodieselhybryddooflers struggle when cold to get mid twenties.

Fuel is cheap at the moment, back in 2008/9 fuel was £1.45-49 a litre, I had an RX8 then and 22 was worth celebrating

Are you pushing it up hills? ;)

Seriously though, I wouldn't have expected that

Haha I have no idea why it went sideways  but yea - I've got a good feel for how it burns through fuel now & it's superb. Must confess I'm using premium fuel though - the guy that did the handover with me at the weekend recommended it for the first few times

Once it's run in you should get even better mpg. Also your signature could do with an update ;)

Very anecdotal, but for my old diesel Fabia vRS I used to get higher MPG running it on premium fuel. The extra miles exactly offset the higher cost.

Now I run my ST on premium for the same reason, plus as it is meant to clean the engine and injectors I think it's worth it.

If I go ahead with my Mustang purchase I will be doing the same.

Need more time to get proper mpg figures. I need to record all fuel and mileage for my company cars so will continue to do so out of habit for the pony. Will be interesting to see what the average is after 6 months. I have found with almost all the cars that I have had that the average figure for my mixed bag driving has been around 20% under the combined figure, so 50 mpg actual on a combined of 62 in the handbook. So expecting low 30's and anything better will be a pleasant surprise.

I use an app on my phone called road trip, get loads of stats from it

This was from my Volvo S60 D2, book had it had around 62mpg, it never achieved anywhere near that. Figured that petrol costs less, yes I'll get less mpg but I shouldn't be that much out of pocket.

This is just the short drive home but looks impressive if nothing else hah.
Filled her up with VPower +, next full tank will give an initial indication

I'll be interested to see what real MPGs people get from both.

At the moment I get 26 from my ST Mark 2 (2.5T), the official figure is 30.4.

I would guess the EB will be around the same at around the 26 mark, and I guess the V8 will be 5-10 less depending on how you drive.

The EB is going to be higher than that as the starting point is higher (35ish) so based on what you get in your ST with a bigger engine the EB being smaller will or should get into the high 20's/low 30's for the average person.
I have no doubt there will be plenty of reliable stats on it by the end of March :)
