Wanted to protect my paint and wrap the car in twister orange or something close to it. I've searched numerous sites and I can't find the color anywhere. If any can help please let me know. Thank you.

Have you hit any local wrap shops. I bet they can get a color that’s pretty close.

Question though. When the bright orange wrap gets some rock chips, the color underneath will be drastically different. What do you do then?

Your best bet is to go to the best local wrap shops and ask for samples. I'm sure they would be more than willing to cooperate.

Not sure how true it is as well, bit I heard once you do a wrap, you really can't go back to the original paint? Something about what the wrap does to the paint? Not sure how true this is?

You can probably get a color very close if not spot on, but understand that if it gets damaged, you are looking at a re-wrap. Wrap isn't a very good paint protection film BTW. Its better than nothing, but that is not its intent.

There is a shop in the orlando area that does excellent vinyl work. I don't know where you are at, but as suggested, call around to your local shops to see how much and how close they can get with the color.

Ove called almost every shop around me. I'm in the largo area. Car already needs a paint correction which ticks me off to no end. Someone backed up into it with a trailer hitch. I was able to straightened the bumper back out. I didn't really want the shadow black but it's all I could find at the time last year. I should've waited. And as far as the orange the only one I seen thats kind of close is the fiery orange but it just looks to dark to me.

Check different brands and see if you can get samples. Inozetek, Avery, 3M and many more are out there.

Have you considered doing a full PPF instead? Stek had a lot of patterns to include forged look, damascus look, matte, and others. Matte black would be pretty sick. The benefit of the painted matte look without the hassle of maintaining it.

Paint protection film is a much thicker polyurethane film than the colored vinyl you’re looking at. It helps protect against scratches and rock dings and has self healing properties.
Fixed it for you. It’s the chemist in me.

FYI a vinyl wrap is only 3-4mils thick and does not really protect the paint. PPF is 7-10mils thick depending on what kind you use. with the 7-10 mil thick stuff, small stones and debris do not fully penetrate the wrap like it could on a colored vinyl wrap. vinyl does not last as long also. 2-3 year warranty whereas PPF is 10 year for XPEL

I think you meant to say mils, not mm. 3-4 mm is about 1/8” and 7-10 mm is about 0.25-0.4”.
