Paint protection film is a much thicker vinyl than the colored vinyl you’re looking at. It helps protect against scratches and rock dings and has self healing properties.Whats ppf
Fixed it for you. It’s the chemist in me.Paint protection film is a much thicker polyurethane film than the colored vinyl you’re looking at. It helps protect against scratches and rock dings and has self healing properties.
I think you meant to say mils, not mm. 3-4 mm is about 1/8” and 7-10 mm is about 0.25-0.4”.FYI a vinyl wrap is only 3-4mm thick and does not really protect the paint. PPF is 7-10mm thick depending on what kind you use. with the 7-10 mil thick stuff, small stones and debris do not fully penetrate the wrap like it could on a colored vinyl wrap. vinyl does not last as long also. 2-3 year warranty whereas PPF is 10 year for XPEL
