I have a '16 GT Cali Special. I bought it in '19. I have the light switch turned all the way to the right so my lights are always on when driving. I've installed switchback turn signal bulbs last year to replace older switchback lights. I have not replaced the side marker bulbs yet (been difficult to remove the existing bulbs for some reason).
When I have the lights on, the side marker bulbs just blink intermittently as if they could go out any time. This has been going on for years. Of course, if I turn the lights off, then they are off 100%.
Last year I had my car at a body shop because I got rear-ended once and I inquired if they would swap the bulbs for me. They wouldn't. But they also seemed to believe that the flickering side markers were not a bulb issue (both sides). They thought it could be something else. I had a hard time believing this so we left it at that.
For the last few months, I've been unable to open my trunk from the key fob and the trunk button in the cab. So I took the car to the dealership to deal with that known recall. Before I gave it to them, I put in a new battery. One of the things they reported was that there were about 8 or so fuses in the engine fuse box that had been replaced with higher amp versions. I know I didn't do that, I bought the car used in '19 with some engine mods. I'll be verifying that this weekend when I get under the hood.
But today I noticed (since I go to work in the dark) my turn signals are not working at all in the front bumper. They work on my side mirrors, tail lights, and my hood. But I have not been able to figure out why the turn signals are now not working. I thought maybe it could be a fuse issue but I read earlier that there is no fuse for the turn signals. They are controlled by the BCM.
Anyone else experience this issue with the front bumper turn signals and side markers? What could be the issue? I don't want to take my car back to the dealership. They tried telling me my backup camera wasn't working and wanted me to spend $520 for a new one. But it's working fine.
I'll add, the only after market electronics I have inside the cabin is my 2 channel dashcam and AAWireless.
