Update: I now have the updated kit from Turbosmart which also included the new hose and clamps (thanks EnFOURcer) and the green spring from jegs arrived yesterday. Has anyone tried green spring and updated vacuum source combo yet?

Just curious what kind of impact those two changes will make
I don't have the spring, but I got the new tap... Charge temps (IAT2) is definitely much more in line now with intake temps (IAT1). Within about 10 degrees or so.

I still hear the noise at low rpm/boost when letting off the throttle quickly. With the softest setting & default spring. Let me know how it works for you.

Sorry to resurrect this and can't find any other continuing thread. I seemed to have missed it and have the same issues. What was the end result, what are people doing? I will certainly contact Turbosmart to get the updated kit. Should I replace the spring, which spring has found to do the trick? Did the green work?

I added the updated kit, default spring. I still hear some flutter when I left off the gas quickly under really low rpm/acceleration. No issues when getting into boost more than a couple of pounds.

Yea my bad, I got lazy with all the cold weather and took it off and have been running the stock bov. The turbosmart and new spring are sitting on my desk at home, I never even got around to swapping the spring in. I have a feeling the green spring combined with the updated kit would work much better. Anyone else ever try?

So the kit will fix the temperature issue and the spring may not need to be changed? Would be interesting to hear if anyone found a real benefit by going with a softer spring and which one.

From what Marty said below, it sounds like the flutter is not necessarily surge and not harmful as long as what we are experiencing isn't under positive manifold pressure. Maybe the stock spring is ok?

Now lets talk about surge/flutter.

On some fly-by-wire vehicles (not just the Mustang), when you install a BOV, and a very "open flowing" intake, you may hear some flutter from the intake.
This happens at very low boost levels.
Their are two things at work here, the tuning (Adam eluded to it earlier) and the pressure drop across the IC.
Please note that there is significantly more pressure on the hot side of the IC than at the intake manifold. This is the pressure differential and mechanical BOV's operate specifically based on this differential.
This is why the BOV needs to be on the turbo side of the IC on these vehicles.
Now you may be making 5 psi of boost at the compressor and still not registering anything at the intake manifold . At times, when you lift off the throttle there may not be enough pressure differential to allow the valve to open fully. Now it is still opening the re-circ port, and you can hear it, but its not always a smooth "woosh".

So, I can assure you that you are not specifically stopping the wheel speed nor damaging your turbo.
Now, if you are into positive manifold pressure and this is occurring, yes something must be done (like the guy that didnt read the instructions and forgot to connect the vacuum line - I wont mention your name). They dont come with "extra parts" - lol

Remember that the valve must have enough spring pressure to provide a good seal to actually realize a performance benefit. We want that valve 100% sealed so that the motor gets 100% of that precious air the turbo is creating (unlike the OEM valve).
If having a silly soft spring was the answer, it would come with one ;-).

Partly to resurrect the thread for those that have arrived here on the forum after March '16, but mostly to say a loud & clear THANK YOU to EnFOURcer.

I have been battling tune issues (flaws) for months, and that frustrating process has made me a bit hesitant to tinker with my engine management [by installing the TS BoV I bought a few weeks ago].

But Marty has been very patient with me and that - coupled with the info & feedback in this thread - has really helped me to grasp the tech.
