Hello,
I've recently received my brand new european Ford Mustang 2016 GT Triple Yellow and now I need to tune it a bit :-)

I have almosr $15,000 to spend on the tuning parts, but I have absolutely no idea where to start.

Could you guys give me some tips on what to buy? The only thing I don't want is the supercharger, the GT has already enough power for me :-)

I am confused? You have $15,000 for tuning, you have posted in the engine section but you end with saying it has enough power?

So by tuning you mean suspension mods?

If so FRPP Kit $1200
BMR Spherical links $200
BMR Cradle lockout $150
Steeda strut and g-trac brace $300
Motorsport spacers or new wheels / tyres $200 - $5000 depending on wheel / tyres

That will sort the handling.

if you do want more power just fit a Whipple supercharger kit. :)

You have to find a place in Poland to sell after market 2015-2016 mustang gt parts! Thats your first step! The emission regulations are different over there, so you have to buy certified headers and catback exhaust systems! Intake and full exhaust with a tune would be a good option. When done with the engine, start spending some cash on the handling packages, wheels, and tires! After that if you have money left, either send it to me or put it in a bank:thumbsup:

I just have no idea where to start :) I want to tune it to improve the look, handling, etc.

I've posted it in the general section, but mods moved it here.

That FRPP kit looks good, but I've found an alternative to it - http://www.cjponyparts.com/air-lift...nsion-kit-digital-complete-2015-2016/p/98021/
It has some very nice features, but will it handle better than the FRPP kit?

Finding a place in Poland / Europe with after market Mustang GT parts is almost impossible, so I will have to import them from the USA. Intake and full exhaust is a good idea, thanks.

The best way to enjoy your new mustang is to live it vicariously through others.

If you invest your money into another's Mustang (say mine) - I will send you pictures and videos of "your" mustang every time I modify it and drive it at the track.

If you selfishly decide not to do the above, I would suggest a custom tune, CAI, full exhaust, headers, wheel and tires, camshafts with billet gears, and the rest on suspension upgrades.

You have to have an idea what is wrong with the look and handling first to know where to go with it. Doing mods just to do them (and void the warranty) doesn't seem like a great way to go... And you end up with "wiejski tuning" chances are ;)

Emissions should be no problem. Even a decatted GT has better emission than a VW. (;

Start with with full exhaust: catback and headers.
You also need to decide if you will be going the FI route or keeping the vehicle n/a.
Springs, handling, tires.
This is a loaded question.

Do a catback exhaust first, then some handling mods (springs, cradle lockouts). Stop there and see if you need/want more.

If I had 15k to drop on my car I would get. Air lift suspension and twin turbos! That would be 15k well spent!

The most import part of this discussion is missing...

-What do you want to do with the car?
-What compromises are you willing to deal with to get it there?

Answers those for us so we can help dial things in.

If you really want the car to handle well. It seems like the FRPP handling pack with Steeda Linear springs delivers alot of performance at a fair price, and there are very good deals to be had on FRPP through some distributors.

I personally wouldn't go the Air suspension route due to the weight, unless of course you want to be able to easier change ride height.

I aside from intake and exhaust like you I am not doing anything to the motor, yet. If I had 15K to spend on my car. I would look into the follow

- A good set of tires, and lightweight wheels.
- Replace, shocks, springs, sway bars.
- Replace bushing ans suspension links to meet my level of expected performance and NVH compromises that I am willing to deal with.
- I would then start putting the car on a diet, and looks for weight to take out while maintaining what every NVH standard your willing to deal with.
Reducing weight improves performance, fuel economy, consumable components like tires, brakes, bushings.
-Then appearance and cosmetic mods, I will be doing alot of Carbon Fiber to reduce weight further.

First, pics of the car :)

If you don't send the money to Ramen, or donate it to charity ...

I'd take it slow, that's half the fun is watching the car develop over time, and you might even decide to change it up year to year. You don't say how you use/drive your car, if it's on track, if you want to keep the "street manners", plan on taking it to cruise-ins, shows, etc.

If I was going to spend a little money, I'd do (and I plan to), something like this - and I realize you said the power is fine, but a _little_ extra couldn't hurt:

- Exhaust, cat-back, some kind of "Touring" option
- Tune
- Intake

- Lowering springs
- Spacers

- Shifter/knob (full assembly like the MGW)

- Hood struts
- Engine valve cover in yellow
- Polished or black coolant reserve tank

Now you've got a car that looks better, much better stance, handles better, sounds great, performs better but without radical changes, has a huge improvement with the shifter, and a great looking engine bay when you pop the hood, all for about $5K(depending on exact parts, international shipping/costs, who does the installs)

You're welcome :D

For handling, definitely the FRPP kit. I would make sure to get the one noted Track Handling pack, otherwise you're basically just putting new springs on. You want Ford Perf part number M-FR3A-M8. That or you could pair those dampers with another set of aftermarket springs.

I wasn't totally aware of the effect of this part, but when I saw it come up twice I did some research. Wow, that's a pretty notable issue in the suspension that gets mostly resolved for a pretty low price. The one video circulating where the guy mounted a camera under the car really shows all the movement and deflection that occurs.

Looks like a cheap addition when some other suspension work gets done (though I did notice the BMR part is limited on convertibles, assuming due to the additional bracing).

Thanks!
