Tuners in CA

Hello all,

I’ve recently begun to start modding my car power wise I have a cai on the car now and long tube headers, 18+ ported manifold, 47lb injectors, and a 90mm throttle body on the way. I recently purchased a tune from 5star running but was required to show my car was registered outside of CA in order to receive my custom tune unfortunately my car is registered in CA I don’t use the car daily and plan to just track the car. Is there any tuners who don’t request for such proof or is their a way around it in order to get my car tuned?

Also forgot to add my car is a 2015 Mustang gt and plan on tuning with a sct device as I have one due to my cai needing a tune. The car is already tuned with bama as my tuner included free tunes from them.

This guy is well known, tunes with an SCT & is in Cali. Never tried his tunes myself but have heard good things.

I've heard good things about Shaun at AED. I would just contact Lund Racing. They may have you sign a waiver, but they will tune you.

I see is Lund the only one that does this or is there any other big name company’s that have you sign a waiver? I know if I were to go with Lund I’d have to buy their tunner unfortunately.

I don't remember signing a waiver with my tuner or with Lund when I was tuned there, but that was quiet a while ago. With Lund you will have to use a different device. Juggernaut tunes also use SCT.

Remote tuning on S550's is very popular, I am tuned by Lund Racing out in florida. They have their tunes spot on. If you are looking for more in person help Paul over at PK Auto Design in Sylmar, CA does tunning.

With the scrutiny from the EPA over the last few years, I imagine all tuners want a waiver of some sort. I can't say with 100% certainty. Even if you need a new device, I would say Lund is well worth it!
