Thanks to all - I've enjoy the discussion and learned a bit. I'll be sticking with the stock FMIC for now and running the Cobb AP OTS tunes. I'm not looking to get every bit of performance with a tune. This is my 100 mile a day commuter car. Better drivability, and a little more lower end. I'm seldom WOT. I also do not plan on keeping the car more than another two years, and only driving it 6-7 months out of the year, I can't justify the expense for that short of time. New tires have just burnt a hole in my wallet!

You will now actually be performing worse than stock over an extended time as you will heatsoak the IC that much faster. your warranty is already gone but..

Well it's your car and you can lead a horse to water and all that.

Hate to be cruel but will unsub this thread now. We'll speak again in the inevitable "I have no power in the summer thread".
I just flat out ignore "Ecoboom" or "Lost my ass in a trade in to a GT" threads.

IzzyMan based on how you describe that you plan to use your car (daily driver) you will be fine with the stock intercooler and COBB Stage 1 tune. I 've driven the car with this configuration for a while before updating the intercooler and getting a tune by Adam and it's perfectly fine. You will even notice a big improvement - it will be night and day compared to the stock tune. Hope this helps.

OK - So I'm putting myself out there---go ahead and beat me up - I installed a SpeedFactory FMIC - From Tune+ - PITA for an old fart like me and no garage.

Had a bit of a windfall and the wife wanted me to spoil myself :)

Ready for the told you so..

I do see a difference in temps.

I ordered lifetime tunes from Adam - Tune+

So far with no data logging and tweaking - the initial tune is awesome.

Just remember the tunes are only for Adams lifetime. Not yours. Better hope he stays safe.

65 degrees in June is a shit load different then 85 humid in the summer. Plus when the asphalt is heated 3-4 days straight in the summer heat, it basically radiates underneath you car. So not only is the ambient air temp 20-30 degrees hotter, underneath you car is basically a death trap to small animals at 120-130 degrees. Ever see the steam come up from the asphalt after a cool rain hits it?

You could be risking engine knock with hot charge temps.

I too noticed a difference between stock IC and a Cp-e just with a FP tune. Can't wait for a tune+ with a WGA or a Vargas set up next year.

I have a 16 Eco with PP package and Airaid CAI and MBRP Street exhaust. I had Cobb (in Plano, Texas) do a custom/dyno tune install wit the Cobb stage 3.....I bought a Cobb IC at the same time and had them install....BTW, about $2200.00 out the door.
On my dash, my IAT gauge is always about 10-15 degrees LOWER than the IAT measured on my Accessport gauge. Like yesterday, in Arkansas where I liv, it was about 85 degrees with 80+ humidity. Running normal (with a small amount of spirited driving) my IAT's were running in the low 100's and much higher at stoplights. As far as power, my dyno printout from Cobb shows (at the wheels) 294 HP and 402 Torque.
