Trunk light grounding

A few days age the trunk light burned along with it’s cable so I replaced the cable and the light part along with with the bulb but the light is not working and the electrician is saying there is not grounding because of the trunk lock part .
There is no problem with the fuse and all other interior lights are working.

Does the trunk /cargo lock part have to do with the light grounding?
What do i check in order to fixthe problem
