Everybody who is saying that it's just someone who likes how it looks or its just for appearances clearly didn't read what the OP wrote. He actually had a conversation with the owner and the owner lied that he had a "V8 version". That's compensating that's not just "I like how the badges look". The guy bought an eco and was ashamed of it enough he bullshit about what's under that hood. Now before I get attacked I'm not saying he should be ashamed just that he clearly is. I am a die hard V8 fan and proud owner but I respect what that 2.3L can do and it has earned my respect as deserving of the Pony logo.

Insecure men exaggerate the size of their manhood and size of their car's engines. Insecure women pad their bras and deny their true age. We should laugh at people who embellish things including their Mustangs. It's pretty sad that there are some Mustangs running around that have "imposter" 5.0 badges on their unworthy flanks. Just saying...

putting weird "badges" on vehicles is the "norm" here in the Middle East (nothing like seeing a Camel with a German "Kompressor" logo painted in it's ass)!

I think the main reason people get mad at people upbadging Mustangs (or any car in general) is because 9 times out of 10, those who do it turn out to be like this:

There is a guy that lives by me that drives a c5 and it's clearly a targa top c-5 with these goofy ass car in fiber accents that glue on all over it and he tells everyone it's a zo6.... Everyone wants to be just thaaaat much cooler than they really are..
