The thicker it is, the easier it is to peel off afterwards.
I always use at least 5 coats, most recommendation's call for three, but it's easier to remove with at least 5 coats.

"One thing the eye doesn’t miss on entering the studio is the extraordinary yellow of the ’15. It isn’t a faint-of-heart canary yellow. It’s a yellow for true aficionados—Lampinen informs me that there is, in fact, a Yellow Mustang Car Club. “Color is a very passionate thing with people,” she says. “We wanted a high-impact yellow. At first we developed a base coat/clear coat but it wasn’t bright enough, so we worked with engineering and suppliers until we came up with this new yellow, a tri-coat yellow.” The deep and intense new shade is reminiscent of the kind of multicoated treatment hot-rodders used on their rides back in the day."

Very nice!!!!

So glad I decided to take the plunge. The earlier photos had me real nervous, thinking it was going to be a real pale yellow color. Turned out to just be bad lighting and/or bad photos.

There was a photos shoot of the EB (first rides) with a bunch of journos and a Guard and Yellow car. I think one or two of the articles had the writer(s) recommending the Yellow saying the lines of the car really showed vs the Guard.

Triple coat premium paint - cant go wrong (the paleness you are talking about it probably an artifact of the indoor neon lights etc). My friend has the CO BOSS 302 and is always complaining about his Ford's paint quality (swirls easily, not as deep finish). This premium extra cost paint should fix that.

Sorry, but I totally disagree. Lampinen is just talking marketing BS to cover up that they dropped the ball on this yellow. I don't care if they used 10 layers, TY is still way too bland and way too pastel. It's a girls yellow. And mind you I have seen it irl twice now, both indoors and outdoors plus I have owned 8 yellow cars so I know my shades.

Don't be fooled by the nice pictures you see here and there. Yellow almost always comes off richer and deeper in pictures that it is in reality.

I see. I'll have to wait till I see it in person. I'm hoping for a deep rich yellow, but a neutral shade (not reddish or orange-ish tones) as I dont want the Taxi yellow or School Bus yellow look.

TY is the brightest highest impact color on the 2015 Mustang right now, get real dude. Bland, please get your eyes checked. And a girls yellow??? WTF??? Stop trolling this thread. You don't like it. We get it. Contact Ford about it and leave the thread if you can't stand looking at it. I'm sick of your posts troll.

It is a bright, high-impact color. It is not pastel. There is a reason it costs $495 as an option. Don't let the TY Sucks Troll sour you on it. It is close to true yellow with maybe a very small hint of reddish/orange in it, not much at all. It photographs different but not as different as say Competition Orange. If you must wait to see one its understood. Just don't let a "Yellow Expert" dictate you making your own personal choice.

The yellow looks amazing, not for me but still fantastic. By far the best looking designed Mustang ever. I saw one yesterday and the car looks incredible. It is almost too bad that they sell so cheap since so many more people will be able to afford them. If that was a 100k and had a Euro name plate people would be gushing over it.

I love it when people can't deal with critisicsm :)
You're perfectly entitled to your opinion, but you are in the minority for sure. I think you're the only person on this forum who despises TY....some people prefer other colors or yellow in general just isn't their style, sure....I haven't seen it in person yet, but from the pictures I am sure I'll love it way better than School Bus Yellow, horrifically pale Zinc yellow, or that terrible Yellow Blaze from 2011. Some of the photos from car shows with poor lighting make it look pale, but everything else I've seen it looks deep and rich to me, but again, I haven't seen one in person yet.

Thanks. I'm sticking with TY. I trust Ford has spent some serious time and money developing this and all the photos I've seen are nice (although slightly different in the amount of red/orange). None are like the other yellows you mentioned (zinc, school bus etc) thank god.

My second alternative CO changes color worse than a chameleon and honestly looks too close to red for me (like a washed out red).

Race red is very nice but doesn't show the lines of any car I've seen it on.

Lastly, DIB is very nice but is going to be a PITA to maintain and will blend in cloudy Seattle.

I find the other colors too boring.
