The car is a magnum XL swapped gen 2 with a RXT1200.

After swapping the transmission, I noticed the transmission tunnel getting extremely hot to include the cupholders, center console, and all around the shifter.
This ONLY happens whenever I have a window rolled down in the car - driver or passenger. I assume this has to due with creating a negative vacuum with the window down which pulls the hot air from the transmission tunnel? That's my only guess, other than that I don't have a clue.

Anyways - I'm looking to minimize the heat inside the cabin. I would preferably like to remedy the solution without dropping the transmission but I can do so if absolutely necessary. Any thoughts or opinions on the subject would be greatly appreciated.

This is the best I know of. You will have to pull the console and carpet. Stay away from dynamat etc.. that type is a great sound insulator but not so good for heat.

On my 63 Corvette restoration, before installing the dash and interior. I sprayed the whole floor, inside firewall and rear bulkhead with it. Amazing stuff.
