I bought something that I hoped would help getting to the transmission dipstick. Tonight I tried it out and it worked pretty nicely. Thought I would share with you all in case it helps someone. One end is a 19mm and the other is a 3/8” drive and it’s about 3” long. It is called a torque adapter. The one I got is real nice and has twelve point 19mm end. You wouldn’t want just six points with limited room you have for movement.

Put this on a long 3/8” extension and you push it up and onto the 19mm dipstick hex. Attach your ratchet to the extension and break it loose. There is very small amount you can turn it before it hits something but works great for breaking it free. It’s nice because you can keep your hands away from the exhaust heat. My dipstick turned freely once broke loose but still took long time due to small amounts you can turn.

BTW
My transmission was having odd shifting at 4th gear and abrupt shifting in 5th gear.
I added about 85-90% of a quart and now all the shifts are very consistent feeling.
