I know we get these a lot...

I have a Gen 2 Coyote with 60k miles and I qualify for a 0% APR. The new 2021 is only a base model though.

I guess my major concern is the Gen 3 reliability because of direct injection. Hoping there isn't carbon build up on the valves.

So base model for base model? I am pretty much getting back what I paid for 2 years ago (just minus a few hundred).

Gen3 is DI+PFI so zero concerns at all.

Definitely get out of the old one while the valuations are bonkers crazy. And this time mod the new one with the chassis fixes and it'll surprise you how much better it is.

Never heard of any carbon issues on these because off the dual injection.

IRS bushings (inserts or replace), IRS brace, K-brace (upper+lower) up front, and a decent set of dampers - Bilstein B6 is the easy answer, or the Ford Performance 'Track' shocks.

Ford has track shocks? Is that PP1 or aftermarket?

A guy here pulled the gen 3 motor from a wreck and the valves were clean. It was only 11k miles so I may do the direct injection delete. There is also the dreaded tick which my gen 2 doesn't have.

I do have Premium wheels so I might just got a wrap and save a ton of money.

Ford Performance 'Track' shocks != PP1 which are the 'street' shocks. PP1 shocks are worthless, just junk. If you're doing any decent amount of HPDE you can totally benefit from better suspension. There's 100 pages on that in the relevant section.

I just traded in my '17 Performance pack for a '20 PP1 a few weeks ago. I am loving it so far. plus a few mods on the '20 can make a good amount of power with a few bolt-ons. No tick in mine so far. I'm at about 6K miles and it already had an oil change from the previous owner.

Huh, maybe I should just drive my S550 and do maintenance and if a better capable Mustang comes out, get that.

What is the break in period and how long? The manager said the first 500 miles is an oil change and don't have fun with it until 3k miles.

Mine had just over 4K when i bought it. The oil change according to CarFax was done at around 2K. Break in though should be 1000 mile break in. After that change the oil if you haven't and you should be good to go.

Thanks for the input. I am still weighing in if this is actually a good deal. Never been a first owner before and I'm 29.

Buy it if you want it. Your concern about the Gen 2 DI issue is non existent. You didn’t mention which tranny you have but if you have the auto the a6 to a10 is a worthwhile upgrade.

I would be going from MT82 to Tremec. I like rowing my own gears.
