GT350 would not be a downgrade, its just different (NA). Yes, paint and body isn't as good as it should be, but vette's are having their problems too. The 350 will have less power and torque but you already know that. -hell its a smaller NA engine The power will be in two different places... most dont even touch where the power of their voodoo engine is... On the track, the 350's regularly dominate just because they're easier to run and built for it. Vette's are awesome too, just different experiences.

I have a fully loaded yellow 2016 Corvette Z06 (automatic) 5,700 miles with the Z07 package and every option.
Considering trading it in for a new 2018 black GT350 with electronic package, I will receive about $10k back to me.
Anyone here had both cars, and care to comment?
Is this a downgrade? The MSRP on the Corvette was $115k, that thing depreciated at an rapid rate. (should level off at this point)
Never drove and rode in a GT350, I owned a 2011 GT500 and a 2013 GT500 before.

I've got an 09 Z06, it would tromp the 350GT, 150 ft-lb torque across the powerband, then again add a supercharger and get 800 to 90 out of the stang?? I drove one and was under-impressed, I could destroy one in the 09 Z06.. what can I say use lauch control and wind her out..watch the 350GT go bye-bye.

Personally I'd call it a baddd idea. I'm pretty sure my 15 Z/28 would give the 350 GT a run for the money too. that 3:90:1 differential is killer in the Z/28..its like an extra 100 hp on top of the 505hp from the LS7.

I have a 17 GT350 and a 18 ZO6 M7. I love to drive both cars. If I could only keep one it would be the GT350, but I am a Ford guy. I would greatly miss the power of the ZO6. I bought the Z to use as a track car because I was concerned about the durability of the 5.2 on the track. I am aware of several GT350s that lost their engines on the track. This is my biggest concern with the GT350. Some use oil and some blow up and Ford is not telling us why. I have a deposit on the C8 because I refuse to pay ADM on the GT500. I think the GT500 might be the better car for you with similar power and torque to the Z06.
you should have gotten a Z/28 like me-warrantied by chevy on the track

I also had a C6Z06. The GT350R is WAY more engaging. The R handles better, has a better shifter, clutch, steering, seats, and among others, WAY better sound. I don’t miss my Z at all. You must not have really driven one balls out.

I had a GT350, actually three GT350s, before my Z06 and while the GT350 is a great car I wouldn't go back. Hang onto your Z06 for now and see what the new GT500 brings to the table if you're looking for something different.

I would not choose one over the other, they are different classes of cars. This is like comparing a 911 to M3. One of them is a 2 seater, smaller, lower to the ground, luxurious sports car. The other seats 4 people, have much more trunk space, more convenient sports car. Mustang is much longer, it is also heavier.

What we need is a corvette with a mustang FPC N/A engine. There is a video of C8 R doing testing with what appears to be a flat plane crank engine. Maybe chevy will put that engine into the C8 GS or Z06 in 3 years and that will be the car to get:)

I went from a 2015 viper GT to a mustang PP1 primarily because i wanted to track it and not feel bad about the dings it takes at the track. In the last 2 months I have had 3 track days and I am very satisfied with my decision. The power feels anemic compared to the Viper but I enjoy it more because it doesn't do anything drastic.

I hope this is the case for you too.

IMO, it's the PS Cup2 tires that cause the tramlining. Once I replaced them with Pilot Sport 4S, the tramlining on my R became mostly non-existent. The Viper ACR I had also came with Cup tires and it tramlined worse than the 350R. I really think it's wide PS Cup tires that cause it and if an owner is going to predominately use the car on the street it's best to swap them out for a high performance street tire.
You hit the nail on the head

Lol. All you had to do was get two of the 5 body panels lined up....from the factory. Ah good deal anyway. Keep your crank pulley tight and can you keep that SC’r bearing noise down. Trying to watch a movie here. Later.
I get it, you like Ford. You should sell the HC if it's such a POS.

I believe he means on track. From car mag comparos (Lightning Lap), the Z28 is quicker than a GT350 R around VIR (Grand), albeit barely.

I crossed over to the dark side for a Corvette...........but I could never bring myself to do that for a Camaro.
