Okay let me retort seeing as this tickled you so

89 Trooper who just joined a week ago and has posted 7 times has also PM'd me almost as mamy times asking for my vin # stating he is adding them to a spreadsheet for his personal amusement.

I respect those whom may want to share theirs freely, but I have decided to share mine only after delivery. I am in contact with my GSM weekly whom I have bought three prior cars from. He knows me, my voice, and my phone numbers, ss# etc, and my ugly mug. I am very confident my GT will be in my hands without incident.

Still I will decline to provide it at this time.

Don't exaggerate. I asked once so I could watch other orders track to get a better idea as to when mine would arrive. Nothing more, nothing less. I even said I understood if you didn't want to provide it. My other questions to you were only to better understand why people may not want to give out this info... as I have no idea what somebody could actually do with a VIN. Especially since people are so freely giving out order numbers, dealer numbers, VINs, etc. I was only curious... and still am.

So if anybody else would be willing to enlighten me as to what somebody with malicious intentions could do. Change an order? Cancel an order?

I'll just add this. I understand if someone wants to keep their information private. BUT… with the information provided in this thread and from users posts and signatures it is possible to find the VIN#'s on your own. If its in production and has a window sticker it can be found with a little effort. ;)

^This, it took me 5 minutes to find it. I'll respect your wishes and not post it up but they are public record that anyone can see.

Same thing I was thinking. I was reading his post thinking "if it's a GT with a VIN#, I am ALREADY tracking it" haha. I spent hours and hours tracking down each vin combo with a match. For the GT anyway

Just so you know, that's why I only asked for the last few digits. I had no intention of even looking up the entire VIN, I just wanted to see how the last few digits compared to mine to get an idea of when mine *may* get scheduled/built/arrive.

I could be wrong, but I assume that VIN's are assigned sequentially. If so, I was within the first 2600 people to order. It was afternoon on 5/20 before the dealership could get my order fully submitted.

They're roughly build in order give or take.. you're about 1000 behind him.

Good luck, would be really nice to see that change to 'In Transit' next week!.

That would be great, but my bet is nothing goes In Transit until about September 10 or 15. "Late September delivery" to the dealers, right?
