The PP2 I ordered completed production status on 3/4/19 and has been in Awaiting Shipment status for over a week. Does anyone know the normal time frame for each phase? I dont understand why Ford doesn't allow you order your vehicle directly then select dealer for delivery and paperwork based on your criteria (price, incentives, etc..,).

My PP2 just today flipped to Awaiting Shipment. It was in the production phase for about 3 weeks until today. There is no set time duration for any of the phases, just estimates. As it moves through the different phases, it tells you about how long it takes. For example, it states for me that the awaiting shipment phase could take a few days to a week. Not sure if that is a standard est or if that could change per order.

Yeah but the estimates seem to be worst case scenarios. I would think Ford has done this enough to where there estimates would be very close to real world parameters. I just dont like the wide variances they provide.

Shipment is up to the dealership so the EDD is just a guess. If the dealer is waiting for a couple more to finish building it could take a few extra days. Timing is everything :-)

Flat Rock will load X number of cars to your dealers distribution center. Since several models are produced in the area, they may have more than one type on board. The rail cars may be owned by Ford, but the railroads control how many go to each destination and many other rail items may have higher priority. Once the rail cars arrive at a distribution center, a contract hauler takes them to the dealer. If they do not have enough for a full load on their delivery routes, there can be several days delay, or they could also have not enough trucks and have to make several trips. Ford can give you a best guess based on experience, but things don’t always happen as plan.
