What are some recommendations on track wheels - square setup? I have the performance package, so ideally something like 19x10.5's - although I am looking at Enkei RPF1's in the 19x10.

Apex EC-7. Even their 18s fit the PP. They have 18x10 and 18x11, as well as 19x10 and 19x11s that fit the GT350 too.

So on my s550 I am currently running the P51 101rf in 19x10 square set up, light weight wheels . I've done trackdays, and autocrosses with them with out any issues. I purchased them thru [email protected], you should shoot him an email definitely can set you up

19x10 +22 is not a particularly good offset for the s550. You want to be more like +35. And unfortunately the 18x10 RFP1 doesn't clear the PP brakes.

I am currently using the SVE GT350 replicas in 19x10 as my track wheels.
About the same weight as most of the "lightweight" wheels and a lot cheaper. Not my favorites in terms of looks and possibly not as strong as some of the others. I like the Project 6GR and Forgestar C10/F14 wheels if budget isn't a big factor.

From what I've seen the 18" setup is the best as long as you can clear the front brakes. As for square setup or staggered if you are NA with just bolt ons then in my opinion a square setup will be fine.

Curious, why is 18 the best on these?

Weight + cost of tires. The downside is the lack of wheel options.

Not in necessarily any kind of order, but...

A. Options you will find way more not only tire brand choices but also sizes available in an 18" option vs a 19" option.

B. Cost generally speaking a 18" tire will cost less than a 19" option.

C. Not much but it all adds up, weight.

D. I don't know maybe it is the reasons listed above but if you look at all the real competition mustangs out there and by that I don't mean the HPDE cars but instead the NASA and SCCA cars they are all on 18s.

Again this is all just my .02 cents.

I have to disagree a little bit on a few of your points.
A: There are a LOT of 295/35/18, 285/35/18, 275/35/18 "track oriented" size tires, I agree! Unfortunately this is a lot smaller diameter than a stock size (~26" vs ~27.7 oem) so you lose a lot on gearing difference.

B: 18 vs 19 inch costs are getting much closer than they used to be (maybe 5-10% more on average for 19"). Last year, I purchased a set of 275/35/19 Hankook RS3 for $142ea from tirerack. RS3 in 275/35/18 was $212, and 285/35/18 was $242 (this is old pricing and could reflect closeouts, etc). But they are getting closer.

C: Weight, I agree with you completely. Most 18" are lighter than 19" wheels.

D: Agree 100% But that might be due to tire regulations in the class.

Def not starting an argument here. Just putting in my .01 cents :D

Well - to be a bit more clear, I doubt I'll ever get to the real competition point. I like my ventilated seats too much :D so I'm not opposed to the 18s, but 19s work as well for my needs.

The goal of a track wheel is to reduce roational mass while increasing contact width.

18" setups provide both for instance

18x10.5 with 305/30/18 R888 tires all day long.

However 19" setups work great as well

19x10 all around with 305/30/19 tested and proven.
