I have been asked by a fellow member for the splitter part number. This part shown below is for a non R. Maybe this will help someone else too.

What are the differences between the two?

The R is larger thus creating more downward force vs the non R splitter. The R splitter is matched by the R airfoil

Hey John,

The story behind this was that the dealer didn't secure my splitter before I bought the car. I took the car for a very spirited drive and the 4 screws that should have held the front of the splitter to the bumper assembly were not installed. The splitter pulled itself down a bit and I subsequently scraped my splitter slightly.

I took it in and asked that they replace the splitter under warranty. They said it would come out of the pocket of the dealer and cannot be replaced under warranty because it was not defective. They told me the cost was $300. I asked what they were going to do with the old splitter and was told that they would just sell it online. I offered them $150 for it. He accepted. So there was no significant damage done to the splitter, just a few minor scrapes on the bottom. I had them properly secure it and I drove off.

I returned when the new splitter was in stock and the $150 turned into over $200. I assume it was a split cost, and $300 is probably dealer cost and $400 is probably retail. They honored the $150, so I threw it in the trunk and drove it home.

I am hunting for a second R model and should I ever have to sell this track pack car, I'm sure the brand new splitter will come in handy during the sale.

So there you have it..... I figure dealer cost is $300 and retail is a little over $400.

Tomster,

Someone is asking about this part in the "check your splitter install" thread. Have you had a peek inside the box on this? Does it include the outer wings, center piece, and all the fasteners?

Thanks.

It includes everything. It is a kit. (hardware, side splitters, etc)

R front splitter is massively expensive. It keeps changing price on me so I won't quote it, but the smallest difference I've seen was it was over 3x the price of the normal GT350 splitter.

It's the exact thing that gets shipped in your trunk when the car leaves the factory.

I think that Ford just doesn't want these showing up on non-R models, but it scares the hell out of me to just "drive" the car. These are in essence "wear parts" designed to be easily replaced.

EDIT: Sorry for the HiJak Tom.

R tax. A small piece of R striping is more expensive than that non-R splitter.

I get discouraging non R owners from cloning. I wish they had a better solution for those of us that actually want to drive our R's.
