After lots of research, I'm questioning whether going NA is a good call on my base GT. One thing that pushed me in the direction of an NA build is two things: weight distribution and overheating.

With more weight up front, my thought is it is going to cause handling issues and require more suspension mods to keep things in check on a road course and auto-x. Does anyone race their supercharged/turbocharged car on auto-x/HPDE? This is more for the enthusiasts than the semi-pro/professional level guys. This is a daily driver and I don't go to the track often.

In regards to heat, how long can the systems run under track conditions before you run into overheating issues? Is there any system better/worse than others when it comes to auto-x and HPDE courses?

I'm not looking for a 1000HP or max effort applications. Just looking to get a good power/weight ratio, fun for spirited driving and on the track, and something reliable. And if it is easy to install, that is a definite bonus :)

unless the auto-x is designed for high speed, handling improvements will help you more than HP improvements. Have you done either auto-x or HPDE? If not, I would try it before considering any changes under the hood.

I think one of the guys who frequents the HPDE/autox section of the forums uses a centri in autox.

Done them in Corvettes, never in a Mustang. Every one of them was NA but I went to the next level on my engines (heads, intake, cooling, etc) because that was my side car, not my DD. I'm thinking that, this time, it may be better to go FI if it makes sense to since less is involved and may be more street friendly.

I thought about a centrifugal; however, the GT intake doesn't seem to be that great up top. Whipple has one hell of a flat torque "curve" which is pretty damn awesome. Boostworks is a few hours away and now they have a single turbo kit. Not sure how easy their stuff is to install though. I even went so far as to contact the Squires Turbo guy to see what they had (donning flame retardant suit) :bolt:
