Here's a good question. If traction control needs to be on for launch control to work then how come when launch control is active and you turn trace mode on that launch control still works? I thought trac mode shuts off traction control and puts advance trac on like bare minimum. Yet launch control will still work unless in trac mode you hit the trac control button once it shows trac off (but it's already supposed to be off when you enter trac mode) and it will give a message launch control not avail. The icon changes from lc to rpm on the dash. If you press it once more it will say trac control on and the launch control active, yet the trac off icon always stays illuminate even if you hit the toggle and it says trac control on in trac mode. Kind of wondering if going intotrac mode doesn't disable traction control at all.

The software is just written that way. It's not like it's physically disconnected. The short answer is that track mode turns off traction control of wheelspin for *most purposes*, but that launch control will still do what it needs to do.

if you put it into launch control mode, it knows to use traction control for that. Otherwise, yeah it's off for Track mode. If you don't put the car in launch control mode you get plenty of wheel spin off the line in Track mode. BTDT.

Sure it's confusing (you're not the only one to ask this question), but the software engineers decided it's better to allow launch control and deal with slightly confusing messages than to have launch control be incompatible with track mode.
