Might be doing this soon and was Curious to see if anyone had taken their ecoboost out on the track, what they did as far as prep, and how the car handled everything overall.

The best thing you can do for your car is put a bigger intercooler on it...does not require a tune ;)

No prep, my car had low miles. I had an ETS intercooler on it as the only mod. Was easy to control at the limit, but understeered badly. No problems with brakes or oil temps.

Forum member JamesinLittleSilver tracks his ecoboost and I believe he added the PP brembo brakes up front. Maybe send him a PM.

I have the GT/EB PP 4pot brakes. The bite is pretty good but I am upgrading rotors and pads for this coming season. I have done the FP track suspension. That was big and the FP tune. The car does well. Mike toasts me on the straights but I hang with older GTs. Tires of course are big. You have the PP so have summer tires. Go have fun the car won't embarrass you don't worry. Other way around happens more often.

Thanks JamesinLittleSilver for the insight. I have a mishimoto intercooler and the FP tune, I was more worried about the heat soke issues that plague the Ecoboost as well as overall engine reliability since so many people complain about their engines blowing up.

I never had issues with that to be honest. You upgraded the IC which I did too...I have the cp-e one which is a tad bigger but still direct replacement not a race sized one. I have watched engine temps and never had problems with diff. I guess my engine is more likely than yours as a 2015 model but the fun is worth it.
Beware MPG at the track.

Intercooler and FP tune are a good start. I was mostly stock my first time out and quickly figured out brakes need upgrading, even at a novice level.

Brakes: racing brake fluid is a must; it ain't cheap but you don't want to boil your fluid trying to slow down at the end of a straight. Castrol SRF is the best but is heart-attack expensive, Motul 600 is great too and a lot cheaper. I cooked my brakes after a few track days getting better / more aggresive and upgraded to GT brakes. I plan to upgrade pads too but haven't yet, and also plan to install brake cooling ducting. For first time out don't worry about that stuff just go have fun, but start shopping for GT brakes. I got my fronts cheap from another member on this site and the rears cheap from Shelby American takeoffs.

Good tires make a difference; mine is also my DD so I went with Firehawk Indy 500s and have been very satisfied so far.

Many/most HPDE events / tracks will require a tow hook. You'll also need a helmet.

Intercooler, upgraded brake fluid and brakes, tow hook, and good tires: IMO is all that is needed to go out and have fun.

The CB006 front frame brace kit will help a lot with cornering and is a relatively cheap/super easy mod to install.

Fill your tank. My overall avg mpg for the life of my car is 25mpg and I can easily get 32-35mpg on the highway. My avg on the track is 7.7 mpg, and have experienced momentary fuel starvation on a long sweeping turn with nearly 1/4 still in the tank. Three or four 20-25 minute sessions at 7.7 mpg can leave you on fumes and praying all the way to the closest gas station after the event. Been there, done that.

Go have some fun!

JamesinLittleSilver haha noted. Thanks man.
GJarrett my car is a PP so it came with the 4 piston Gt brakes stock, guess I lucked out on that one.

Did you guys just run 93 when you went out?

Yep 93 though I did put in an octane booster one time just to see how it worked.
I too did the brake thing...Motul 600 and stainless steel brake lines. That was suggestion from our classroom instructor ...don't want a line cut when you are flying into a corner. Worse thing is paying for all the upgrades you want balancing that with upgrading yourself with track time.

I would suggest a couple books too. Ultimate Speed Secrets ...by Ross Bentley is a complete guide and, an easy one on Kindle is You Suck at Racing....Ian Korf. Skip Barber has one too that I have, but not read yet and even Stig has a couple...again I have but have not read yet.

There is lots to learn finding an author that you can learn from doesn't hurt.
Winding Road Racing sends out emails with some short lessons from Ross Bentley so they are free.

I just bought a 2018 EB with PP. While I'm new to Mustangs, I'm not new to HPDE, having participated in these events for over 20 years (mainly with PCA). Here's what I'm going to do to my new EB before I head to my first HPDE this year; 1) Put in 5W-50 synthetic oil (per the owners manual) and 2) buy an extra set of front brake pads (something like a Hawk HPS+). That's it.

Drivers who are new to HPDE tend to focus too much on modifying their cars before they ever learn how to drive them. Don't get me wrong, I'm not "dissing modifications", I'm just saying that odds are, you don't need to consider any significant modifications before your first event. After a driver learns how to maximize what they currently have, then it's time to consider modifications. If quick lap times are your goal, then you should modify in this order; tires, brakes, suspension,......horsepower. If you don't agree with this logic, Google some lap times for Spec Miatas at your local track and see how they compare with lap times from noob drivers in much more powerful cars (Warning: It can be humbling).

My "two cents".

5w-50 for the Ecoboost?!? I need to take a closer look at my owners manual...

It's under the section regarding "track use". It says to return to 5w-30 after your done using it on the track.
