Tower to tower brace standard?

I know the "R" model has the Tower to Tower brace as standard equipment; so does the "Track Package".

The Track Package specifically states it includes an "aluminum T-T brace.
The "R" package specifically states it also includes the same brace.
The Tech Package does not state it includes the brace.

However, my car with the "Tech" package also had a tower to tower brace.

Does the base model GT350 also have the brace? Is it standard equipment, regardless of which model you have?

Yes, the base and Tech get the same steel brace. It's standard equipment. The lightweight aluminum brace is the upgrade to the Track/R models.

This surprises me. You would think the cost to have 2 different braces (steel and aluminum) would be more than just using all aluminum braces. Are you sure one is steel?

Yes. One is stamped steel and the other is welded aluminum piece. There would be s delta cost and it's a differentiator between the two most popular packages

The steel one is the the same brace that is used on the Gt performance pack. They just swap the Gt badge for Ford performance. So there's really no additional cost.

I have the base gt350 and I don't know everything under this car yet because winter is here in Chicago and I don't have a lift but I think alot of people who buy or are interested in the base will be surprised. I still don't get ANY of the pricing differences in these cars and packages. My car has the magnaride or electronic valve shocks. Shock label says BNI and have wiring connectors on them. My strut brace is aluminum!! I have put a magnet to it. Does not stick. It is not steel nor does it have the reinforcement gig brace like the R and track pack but it is aluminum. Seats identical to track pack. I know all the cars have oil cooler. So where is $6500 difference located at? Extra coolers? Base is a bargain. Have driven 2 other gt350s. 1 track, 1 tech. Cars all handled and run virtually identical with the tech car actually seeming softer ride than the track and my base. All have horrible audio systems. Just my opinion.

I didn't know this mystery was still unsolved. I should've checked my base model for Magneride. I will agree the base is the best bargain going. I am completely satisfied with mine in the limited time I have had with it.

Completely agree, the base model is the best bargain and bang for the buck out there. Just send some pics of the shocks before you assume it's magnaride and make the rest of us feel like dummies.

I have my shop being torn up as I write just to house some of my cars. Once I repaint and put floor down a lift is my next thing. After that I hope to put my splitter on, change stereo, get car on lift and ill take pics. Yes I have been perplexed by the base but initially a couple of my ford mfg customers TOLD me to buy the base you will not be disappointed. Tons of bang for the buck. I have to assume there is only so many choices when you build a limited run of cars. Also by the way the whole magnaride system from the dealer per R spec costs $2600 plus $700 or so install. So it is not a major investment either way. So where is the $6500 difference?

There are two shocks available for the Shelby - base models get the Monotube - track, tech, and "R" get the magnaride. If you have a base model only and have the equipment you stated, then consider yourself lucky.

The base car does NOT come with magnaride, or an aluminum strut tower brace. If you actually got them for free consider yourself lucky but don't try to make it like tech/track pack isn't worth it for everyone else who won't be so lucky.

I agree with SVTDSM. There are major differences between the Tech and Track packages, so it isn't just a strut tower brace and magaride shocks. I honestly don't see how Ford would have made such a major mistake as to install magnaride shocks AND an aluminum strut brace without it being in the paperwork somewhere, but crazier stuff has happened.

I would check those part numbers on the shocks to verify they are what you say they are, and if you are still in doubt, you should be able to ask your local dealership parts guy for a build sheet on the car. All they need is the VIN number. That will tell you everything as that is the bible when it comes to a vehicle's build.

At the end of the day if they didn't charge you then you are one lucky GT350 owner, however please don't diss on the packages because they are worth to the owner what they paid for it for sure. I myself would rather have had the Track Pack,but it seems most dealers are ordering the Tech Packs for most of their cars. Dang it.

The strut tower brace is easy to determine the material just by looking at it. If it is one piece like the pic above, it is stamped steel. If it is 3 pieces and the ends are welded, it is aluminum.
Also, the magneride shocks should be easy to determine; In normal mode the car rides nice, in track mode you will feel every crack and imperfection in the road surface.
