I've a 15 GT running sync 2 it's super slow. I'm thinking about getting an Android touch screen, prefer with the mode switch, does anyone have any recommendations? I also thinking about getting the sync 2 to sync 3 on Amazon....

I did an upgrade 4 to 8” screen and used Hextall for everything. It was cheaper and awesome support for it. Just my 2 cents

It’s such a same ford even let the 15 year have sync 2 to begin with. All other years got sync 3 and it is great. Nice interface, quick response and you can have Apple CarPlay/Android Audio. I would recommend doing the sync 2 to sync 3 upgrade but you will have to look into the amount of work that involves, plus I’m sure that it won’t be cheap.

FWIW, there's a company out of Chicago that can sell you a new sync 2 APIM for less than anywhere else. Their name is "All Things Sync". It would probably restore your current system. That's probably your least expensive option.
They also sell the conversion to sync 3. That will require you to replace the screen itself (it's slightly larger), the APIM, the bezel and an adapter or two.

I found the sync 2 to 3 on Amazon for about 700. I'm more interested in the Tesla screen. I just don't want to loose function.

While I'm no expert, I recently upgraded my 2011 F-150 Raptor electronics and used the idatalink maestro module (models: rr and rr2) to obtain flawless integration to the existing vehicle controls.

Maybe start with the idatalink maestro compatible radios/screens and see what is available.
