Curious if I need to go bigger on the front, or square it out. I’ve been contemplating a square set up since I don’t drag or auto, just have fun. The car is a PP, with Steeda stop the hop and the rear end always is on the verge of coming out. I mean making a right turn 2nd gear, not going fast and it feels like it wants to start skipping. Its not a DD and while I have fun with it, its not helpful when the wife is driving it. Currently its on Forgestars-
Fronts are Michelin Pilot Sports 255/40/19
Rear are Michelin Pilot Super Sports 305/30/19

Is the ratio front to back too far off and would a 275 square set up really tighten the car up a bit especially when the wife drives it?

Thank you.

If there are no other mods either:
Your tires are dead
Your tire pressure is wrong
Your alignment is bad
Something is broken
Your driver needs mods

The PP1 in any stockish configuration wants to understeer. Stagger will just make the understeering more prominent.

How many years on the tires? Do they feel hard or soft if you push a thumbnail into the tread?

Besides that, square tires are a good fit for the car if you want to turn.

Thanks for the response!

No soft spots and when pressing them feel stiff.
Pressures are 31.
Tires have around a year but this isn’t my DD (I’ve put 2000 miles since May).
As far as driver mod I have room for improvement but this is my fourth Mustang never put one into a curb always have been able to recover but also know my limits.
Out of all the mustangs I’ve owned this one just always feels like it’s fighting to keep the rear straight so just looking for tips and thinking either square set up, increase front wheel width or sway bars.
Thanks again always willing to learn.

What is your alignment currently? This is more than likely a problem there.

Sounds like I’ll have to get it checked.

I know the 2” difference between front and rear contributes, but that’s not raising any red flags?
Thanks!
