I currently have a set of Corsa headers paired with the sport catback. It was the perfect volume before adding the headers. I'm looking for options to time things down. I would like a dual 3" in/out resonated midpipe using something similar to the Magnaflow 12469. Based on the interior design it looks like it would be restricted being that the car is making 760whp. What have you guys done other than resonators before the mufflers? I'm open to doing something custom or changing the whole system. Let me know what you have. Thanks for the help.

I don't have headers yet but they are on my short list. I recently installed 11-14 Varex Xforce axleback on my S550 with a resonator delete X-Pipe. They are quiet as stock closed and just a little quieter than the Borla ATAK catback when open. I think they will be a happy medium when I go catless.

Bullet style resonators welded in will help a little. I did that but ultimately went to the MF Tru X. MF & Borla make 3 inch resonated x pipes. I can't remember the part #'s.

I have definitely considered those.

I don't think the resonators will bring the sound down enough, though it seems like they clean up the rasp a bit. I'll have to check into the Borla midpipes, I definitely want to stay 3". Do you have a link for those? The Magnaflow Tru X would be my first pick if it wasn't 2 1/4 inlet and 2 1/2 outlet. Magnaflow, come on and give us a good 3" option!

Resonators help refine or clean up the exhaust. I definitely noticed a lot less rasp after the resonators were installed. They quiet the exhaust system down a noticeable difference but it isn't like going from a Corsa Xtreme muffler to a GT500 muffler(loud to quiet, night to day).

Options include trying resonators, different mufflers, or active exhaust system

You do know that the link you posted is technically a 3" resonated x pipe right? It's just not a bolt in option like the tru-x. Which the tru-x isn't even listed by magnaflow which makes me believe it's just a 2.5 in/out resonated x pipe that has specific leads welded on and sold exclusively through CJPP.

Both 3” inlets converge into a single 3” pipe, then expand again into dual 3” outlets. Maybe it’s not a restriction, maybe it is. A lot of people are hesitant to use it because intuition suggests it will choke flow.

I ended up using two Magnaflow 14419 resonators on my full catted ARH system. I installed them at the same time that I did the headers so I cannot tell how much difference they made (sorry OP). But the car is tame at idle and cruise but it opens up big time when you step on it. Actually seems quieter at cruise now than it did with the stock headers and ARH catback. Perfect in my opinion. Then again, the ARH system is one of the quieter ones to start with.

I had catless long tube headers with corsa sport and while it sounded awesome, it was just too loud for me. I now have the xforce varex 3" exhaust. Only downside is you have to custom fab the 3" connection point. They only include a 2.25" factory connection. The mid-muffler is a x-pipe inside. With the muffler valves open, it's a straight through exhaust. I drive around all the time with it open and it's perfectly tolerated. My wife doesn't complain. When you go wot, it's almost as loud as the corsa setup. Close the valves and it's almost as quiet as the stock exhaust.

Things I don't like about the varex system, but aren't deal breakers... No 3" connection(at least when I bought it), Midmuffler hangs a little low and can scape over speed bumps(on my mildly lowered car), They use 2 bolt with gasket connections throughout instead of slip fit connections.

Do you have any exhaust vids of your setup? I added the Varex to mine in preparation for Kooks long tubes. I have a vid of my setup on YouTube, search for "DCS550 Mustang" My video skills suck but you get the point.

I bought the Corsa touring mufflers......It's not as loud, but still very aggressive under WOT.

Corsa Extremes on stock was great. After adding catted ARH LTH was insane. Have a whole thread on here about toning it down. Ended up adding Vibrant 1794s 12" on right between the mufflers and the bend. Night and day difference. 3" in and out.

If like to do something like this if it would make a big enough difference.

Yes I do. The thing I worry about is the internal design how it merges together. It looks restrictive, and Magnaflow didn't recommend it for my power level.

I'm looking into these as well. I'd consider buying just the midpipe and adapting it to the Corsa axle back. If that wasn't enough maybe add their mufflers too.
