Sorry if this has been covered. I have read the thread and haven't come across this.

Is there a way to show the artist info while using the Fm audio! All I see is the channel.

take a post it note and write the 6 artists they play each day on it and put that on your screen

So what I am gathering from reading this thread and a bit of others on here that the software used with the Tomtop just taps into the car's Sync system but is not using My Ford Touch. Just a knockoff MFT UI correct?

And with all these issues people are talking about does Tomtop offer Firmware upgrades and if so where do they post them? I didn't see anything on their site.

My only concern is if there is no support from Tomtop with their product what's the point buying this if there is still issues that need fixing and what if phone compatibility issues arise as Apple and Samsung - among others - upgrade their OS year after year.

And noticing that people are having issues getting full refunds for defective products and no customer support for some turns me off. BUT I really want this to be a solution! HA. So someone talk me into it.

What bugs me the most out of the Sync 2 system is the sluggish speed and the fact they only display 16 characters of a song title. Shit is infuriating. So does that mean the Tomtop unit is no different?

No, it's just that the TomTop unit is not configured to display scrolling artist/content info.
Tomtop is what it is. I don't think we'll ever see an update, unless someone accepts that challenge of developing one on their own. Someone here said they were doing that, but nothing has materialized. A hack to get in and make improvements to the display would be great, but I'm not a computer software expert, so I don't know the challenges.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: I'm absolutely game for a reward. $40? $50? from me; what do you think we could all muster together?

I want spelling fixed, clock fixed, and I'd like the display to display (I always use Sync; about half the time, the TomTop unit doesn't display track info unless I switch sources and switch back, though everything works). Ideally I'd be able to switch units, but that's not a big deal.

Just hooked mine up from NewMango; which was suggested on youtube from a fellow on here- thank you. Easy setup; the harnesses are easy to get off once you figure them out. For the cigar lighter, smash those little tabs in and it will pull out.

Has the typical problems that everyone else is having. Beeping noise on turning off which doesn't bother me; my last deck used to beep to remind me to take out. Turns on when open driver door. Not a big deal either. Temp in Celsius. Clock is one hour behind, so I switched it to eastern time so it matches up; so that's good. I'm not buttoning my back up until a little bit so I can fix if any problems that may occur.

I'd say it's defiantly worth for $300. Pretty cool having a touch screen; makes your car seem more high tech. It also adds rca's if I'm not correct?

I just fixed some issues on the unit we will be selling. We can now minimize the navigation so you don't have to exit out of it. Added 12 hour clock to it now as well so it is no longer stuck in 24 hour clock mode. Got the navigation working. Everything is good with it now. Only thing I wish it still had was screen brightness settings but they are working to see if that can be added.

This unit has it all now. Nav, HDMI, all usb inputs work, sync works great, radio works great, climate controls on screen, can play mp3's from usb etc. We will be ordering some of these units in. Not sure on pricing yet but max should be around $500 for it shipped I think. I'd say these are definitely worth it over the Tomtop unit.

No temp issue, no clock issue, hdmi input, better looking bezel(imo) climate control on screen etc. If it is worth it to you is subjective but it is to me.

That is the price I got from the guy on youtube that posted here. I am very interested in buying one of these units. But my only problem with that guy is there is no warranty. Once I can get that I will buy it ASAP. $400-$500.
