The sales rep says that Tomtop is a clone and low end quality. But he wants me to pay 899 for a test unit then after I give a review on it I will get a refund for some cash back. But it would still cost more than tomtop

Yes that one is it. but you can not buy it from the website, only from car dealers they sale to wholesale.

When you say car dealer, do you know if they mean a car dealership, or could a sound shop/aftermarket shop place order them? I was just thinking, I have a buddy that owns an aftermarket business on the side, and would surely order these for me, and possibly others.

That's how he wrote it in the email that I got. but it doesnt hurt to ask your buddy to get in contact with them to see if he would give them a different price.

I spoke to that company before as well. We are working on trying to get some in to test and then if good to stock. Pricing will be more than the Tomtop unit but if the quality is better it will be well worth it!

Hey guys, I got a new unit installed 2 days ago, it's not the one from Tomtop tbh I don't know who the manufacturer is, got it from the local market in UAE, Dubai

I really like it and it doesn't have the clock bug and u can change the temp format between C & F.

I'll post a video later on tonight.

It has one issue though: the temp seems to be incorrect, any ideas why?

I noticed yours has a memory card as well. I wonder if the whole software is installed in there. And if it is, if there is a possibility we might be able to upload a version from a different manufacturer to our tom top units. I'll check my memory card today, if it is in fact embeded into the memory card, any chance you could upload your software version for us to see if it is compatible?

The memory card is only for maps.
