Ok, so had a list of things to do BEFORE I collected the stang BUT now I'm not so sure

I was going to put spacers and eibach pro kit on BUT I'm surprised how good it looks stock, then I've seen just spacers on stock (only pictures admittedly) and I seem to be in a world of dilemma

Anyone else surprised at how good it looks as standard ?

A confused Og ....

Does look very good as standard, but looks even better lowered

I have BMRs installed and only dropped it by a small amount, but it does make it look SO much better

Trouble is, modding this car is like Crack... So addictive!

That^.

Try and get to see yours next to a lowered one. You'll be surprised at just how large the wheelarch gap is on a standard car and lowering won't adversely affect the ride quality.

And remember; large gaps make baby Jesus cry.

I'm not lowering.

  1. It definitely means more scraping and bottoming out on real world roads and the more spirited you drive the worse that gets.
  2. A smaller gap might look good at the top of the tire but the unavoidable wider gap at each side of the tires looks bad.
  3. It negatively effects the geometry unless you make other changes.

You must live on the moon 'cos I've yet to bottom-out or even scrape my lowered GT and Gibbo's car is lowered and fitted with the G-Trac brace which will add another inch to the bottom of the car and he reported no issues either.

We've both just come back from the NC500 which included more than a mile or two of bumpy single-track country roads & neither of us had any problems.

Reduced gap at the top of the arch looks way better than any increase elsewhere. (Never heard of anyone complain about that)

Other changes required are very minor and inexpensive and if you choose not to do them it won't make your car undriveable.

I ve driven my car to my work place which has some rediculously high speed bumps and I haven't bottomed out. A town near me is a 20 zone and has a lot of speed bumps (the sort the car can straddle across) and still no problems.

By lowering, you are dropping the centre of gravity which should only help the car. You may/probably need to get the wheels aligned, but that's no big deal.

As I said, my drop is pretty tame (1/2" at the back and a little more than 3/4" in the front) but the difference in looks is night and day.

Same springs as my car. It clears speed bumps tho did scrape slightly a couple of times in the Highlands.
I'm in total agreement with Centurion and the Wolf though. Looks much better lowered imo.
Less altitude = more attitude ;)

Agree with the pro arguments above, I've had zero issues with the car lowered and spacered. NC500, speed bumps at work, nothing. Even got on the kerb at M&Ds for the photo shoot with no issues at all, so did Capitan Pug and his car is on Eibach I'm sure.

The stock stance was offensive to my eye and it really needs sorting IMO, you won't regret it, but have it done and set up professionally. Do it

I grounded my stock Alfa 156 more than my lowered Mustang.
Car looks great stock but I have made many visual mods to my car. Hood Scoop, Front Splitter, Track Pack rear spoiler, Rear window spoiler ets but the best single mod I made was to lower and fit the spacers.

Do it!

Mine has just returned from NC500 it has steeda with ford racing shocks
And is low especially at the front with the Cervini splitter,
Flat out over the highlands no scraping no bottoming out.

I'm also down an inch all round with a brace underside. No problems.

Anyone here have a steep driveway and have also lowered their car?

I'm really keen to lower it but the driveway to my garage is really quite steep. Dad's 911 was so close to scraping when he drove up it.

I have a fairly steep ramp into my garage. I reverse in as i suspect the front would ground out...

Steeda ultra light springs going on wednesday, 1.25 inches on the front. 1 inch on the back.
15mm eibach spacers all round. Probably wouldn't be doing any of it if I hadn't come across this bloody expensive forum
