It's already been three months and almost 3k miles and I'm already starting to price out a new set of tires. I have the EcoBoost with PP. I'm not an aggressive driver and I've never done a burnout or powerslide in it but I do take turns sort of hard at times. I'm gonna rotate these as best I can but i guess I'll be lucky if I get 10k out of the Pirellis. I've heard something about the Michelin Pilot Super Sport being an awesome alternative but I want something with better tread life and awesome performance.

Suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Super Sports are the best overall street tire you can buy right now. They also last a really long time for their treadwear rating. I got 45,000 out of a set of mine (not S550) and that was with 3 autocrosses and a track day. The Conti DW that Oppo linked is also another great one.

Like they said above, if money is not an issue get the super sports. For a more cost effective route go Continental DW.

heard nothing but great things about mpss...yes they're higher priced... i had to give the mickey thompson street comps a chance though after reading about them. Now I just need my wheels to come in so I can actually get a feel for the tires!

Slow treadwear and high performance don't mix. Like aggressive brake pads and low brake dust. MPSS has the best treadwear to performance ratio IMO, but the cost reflects that. The Conti DWs are best bang for your buck in that category.

Things aren't so cut and dry anymore. Soft rubber isn't the only way to a grippy tire nowadays, things like tread design and carcass construction plus stiff sidewalls all work together to increase performance without sacrificing tread wear.

I still don't think you'll see a summer tire get to the grip levels of R compounds regardless of the tricks employed. Michelin and Continental have done some pretty cool things with their tread and compound engineering to make impressive tires, no doubt.

Man only 3k miles in 3 months?? Sheesh you're lucky! I've put 16k miles on my car since end of October lol.

I like Nitto INVOS. Quiet yet great performance.

I just put a set of Bridgestone Potenza S-04 pole positions on my GT and they feel great and didn't break the bank. They are rated higher than the Pirellis and just below the MPSS. But for the price (I got $201 a tire) you can't get any better.
