I’m getting Niche Gamma wheels, 20x10.5 rears and 20x9 fronts, and was recommended 275/35R20 and 235/35R20 tires for my 2015 mustang. I am looking to get the most meaty tire and saw other mustangs running these wheels with wider widths. I am lowered 1.2 inches in the front and 1.0 inch in the rear. What are some of your tire recommendations?

Why such a huge bias? 275 rears are stock on the PP, I run 275 on 9.5 squared. Why not just run the 275 in the front as well?

honestly, I’m not sure. this is the first set of wheels i’ve ever bought and that’s what fitment industries recommended.

If you're doing a staggered setup, why not to x10" in front and x11" in the rear? That will fit with no camber or weirdness required as long as you keep the front to 285-30-20 and the rear to 305-30-20.

Narrow wheels are for square setups to avoid spacers, or to save money on tires.

I want staggered, but the wheels I want come in 10.5 at the widest

OK. I might look at different wheels, but if you stick with them the suggested tire sizes seem off. For a 10.5 I'd go with a 295 and for the 9" in front I'd go at least 255 but possibly 265. The sizes you've got there are going to be very stretched. The mustang performance pack runs 255s on 9" fronts and 275s on 9.5" rears. So you're looking at an additional inch of stretch in the rear and nearly that much in front.

I hate that stretched look and it doesn't tend to perform well either. It's functional, but I would spend money to make it go away rather than to make it happen.

Yeah for a 9" front a 255 is normal. Could go to a 265.

For a 10.5, a 295 is normal, but maybe a 305 would fit, I'd check with the tire manufacturer's specs for your tire model of choice, that will tell you for sure what size wheels your chosen tire size will fit on. No guesswork required.

You can run a 275/35/20 on a 9" wheel, And run a 305/35/20 on the 10.5" wheel.

For a perfect fitment, go with a 265/35/20 on the front, and a 295/35/20 on the rear.

Incidentally, I'd be very suspicious about why they gave you the wrong sizes. It sounds like you're talking to someone with no clue, and that's dangerous as there are other fitment issues that may not be right.

Niche recommended a 235/35R20 on a 20x9 wheel ? Never heard of a mustang wanting to grow up to be a honda stance car before ...

the "tyre size calculator" has a good go by for fitting tires to wheel width
I just ordered 9.5x20 and 11x20 CS wheels and am having 275 35 on front and 295 35 on rear
I have a 2020 Mustang GT premium PP1
We will see how it looks and rides in about a week.
I looked at many combinations but felt this was a reasonable increase in foot print without worrying about effecting other issues?

20x9.5 front 255/35 20×10.5 rear 305/30 . Same tire diameter. Depending on off set they will set flush . Pics lowered on sportlines. No rub with alignment set at spec.

Thank you for all of your suggestions! Looks like I’m gonna fork out the extra money for some more tire.
