I recently purchased a set of 19x10 rims for my 17 GT. I'm looking to run a squared setup on them in either a 275 or 285 tire. My car is not a DD, but most of its use is for DD type driving. I'll make the odd trip to the drag strip but I'm likely going to buy a set of rims and tires specific for that use later on this summer.

I've done a fair amount of research in the last few days and have it narrowed down to a few selections. I've listed choices and prices below. I'm in Canada which is why prices might seem out of whack. I have a budget of around 850ish

Indy 500s - Best price i can get is 788 for 275/40s or 855 for the 275/35s. 285/35s are closer to 1000 and I don't think it's worth the extra 150 for the 10mm.

General Tire GMax RS - The reviews I read on TireRack state they are comparable to the Indy 500s, but just curious if anyone has tried them personally. These run around the same prices as the Indys, but I can get the 285/35s for 850.

The other two I have on my list are the Bridgestone Potenza RE970AS, and my budget option right now is a set of Federal Evoluzion st-1 - they are almost $200 cheaper, and I've read a few reviews on them which sound positive, but there doesn't seem to be a lot of reviews out there on them.

I'm leaning towards the Indy's or the GMax RS's at the moment.

Thanks
Kevin

I picked up some Cooper Zeon Rs-3s 285/35/19 and 325/30/19. The 285s were $136 ea. So far, they've been great. But to be honest, I've only really driven it for aboit 100 miles with the new tires. So far though, I really like them.

I have these exact same tires mounted on SP2s and have driven about 1000 miles on them now. They have performed perfectly for my needs. Essentially, some quick stoplight acceleration, mountain curves, and great wet/dry traction.

I have been on Firehawk Indy 500s, but on my 2012 Civic Si. They really are sticky and you'll feel the difference they are summers versus the all season you posted. But I am curious about the Potenzas as well. I had those on my Si. Not very sticky under normal driving conditions. Be careful.

Ordered the Indy 500s in 275/40/19s today. I got a set for $880 shipped to my door which is about $660 in USD at the current exchange rate.
