Sounds like a Lexus is next for you! Quietest car I ever drove was one of the LS models.
Love my LS460.

Absolute silence and supreme comfort.

When I wear this one out, it will be another LS that replaces it.

How old are you guys with tinnitus? And is there any relief you can do for it? I'll probably end up with it :(.
I'm 58 and mine started last year I haven't found and my doctor hasn't found any way to stop it. Mine varies in loudness and sometimes comes in waves very irritating.

Very nice. Went looking in craigslist and came up with this: 2011 Lincoln MKZ Hybrid - $11900 ... https://losangeles.craigslist.org/lgb/cto/d/2011-lincoln-mkz-hybrid/6693313876.html
Not a fan of white interiors, but an interesting vehicle to pursue. Have to check out the longevity of batteries.
Guess it's Fords version of the Fusion: https://losangeles.craigslist.org/wst/cto/d/ford-fusion-2016/6681715423.html
My wife had a 2010 Mercury Milan Premier 3.0 FWD (same as the Fusion/MKZ) and it was a very solid ride in the 5 years/70K+ miles we had it, but the A/C started to go out (nearing 100K miles on it) so we traded for a 2015 Honda CR-V AWD Touring. The ONLY thing I disliked about that car were the front seats were harder than a freaking rock. Averaged about 22mpg and would hit 28-30 mpg on longer hwy commutes.

FYI - My car is an MKS which is essentially a fancy Ford Taurus SHO (since I have the 3.5TT EcoBoost).

Regarding tires... Exactly. That's why I initially did not get the performance package with the bigger wheels.
I've also got a 2004 Crossfire that I'm looking to replace 10 year old Michelins on (cars only got 46k miles). Surprised to see a European tire, Barum, show up. Made by Continental in Europe. Amazing price and suppose to be quiet from my research. https://www.discounttiredirect.com/...Product/11451?all-vehicles=true#/read-reviews.
Tires do make a huge difference in road noise. Definitely do your research.
We have a 2017 Honda Pilot and man that thing is a couch on wheels. Comfy, quiet and fast with decent mpg. My wife, kids and I have been driving Honda's for the past 10yrs so this is my first Ford. I can see myself going back to a Honda in a few years if the stang does not grow on me. Enjoying it now though..

Dennis, it was fun meeting up with you and others on the Mustang cruises here in SoCal. I know what you mean about the tire/road noise. I have been a Diesel Mechanic for over 40 years added to riding motorcycles for 35 of those years. I too have tinnitus, and hear ringing and clicks all the time. I wish you luck in finding a new ride and a new home if you go that route.

It started for me when I was 62. Been with me for 10 years and just bumped up in volume 11 months ago. There's no usual age that you might get it. There is no cure or relief. It is always there and you just tend to ignore it when you get busy. It's amazing how many people I've talked to have it. Wear ear plugs (almost useless) or, at the very least, a set of ear defenders from Harbor Freight that will reduce noise by 23db. I've got a decent set that brings noise down 34db. Note that db ratings are not linear. http://www.helpcharts.com/decibel-range-chart-info.html I just did a couple of cross country airline trips and the saving grace, for me, were active noise cancelling head phones.

"Subjective tinnitus is tinnitus only you can hear. This is the most common type of tinnitus. It can be caused by ear problems in your outer, middle or inner ear. It also can be caused by problems with the hearing (auditory) nerves or the part of your brain that interprets nerve signals as sound (auditory pathways)."
Dang, that's rough. My ears already ring every now and then, but nothing painful or that lasts more than a few seconds. Maybe this is the beginning, hopefully not! How loud of a noise do you have to be subjected to, to do damage?

Playing Pink Floyd on max sound setting doesn't help I think it's one of many things that caused mine

Probably more info than you wanted to know, but... :)

My feeling is the amount of noise varies by user. One of the reasons, as I understand it, is from damage done to microscopic hairs inside your ears.

Check out this graphs on this page: http://www.helpcharts.com/decibel-range-chart-info.html They give guidelines on how much noise you can stand and the duration. One chart is labeled: "Always wear hearing protection for anything over 85 dB!"

All I can tell you is wear ear plugs or ear defenders when u'r using the leaf blowers, power tools, buffers and such.

Good luck!

Thanks for the informative response! I'll probably go pick up a pair of muffs this weekend. I've been a little careless with my hearing and need to be more careful. Especially concerts and loud cars.

I did install new wheels last week and next will be to lower it a little. This is a 2012 that has the EcoBoost Appearance Package ('10-12 only) which means all body color moldings and no wood interior pieces.

Thought I'd update the link. I ended up in a used 2016 MKZ Hybrid. Their equivalent of Ruby Red :) with 25k miles on it. Sun roof, nav, 41mpg in town, quiet and no frigging horse power :( Oh well... win some, lose some... and at this point I feel lucky to have won as many fun rides as I did without killing myself :)
