Time for the next chapter

I’ve been driving my 490 whp 19gt for a few months now, and while it’s a blast to drive and pretty fast, I feel like I need a little more.

I’ve been on the fence about a centri blower vs a pd blower. I like them both for different reasons, but man. The price tag on either setup is substantial. Anyway I got to thinking. I’m a technician with 23 years of experience. I work at a high performance shop with all kinds of fabrication equipment and a dyno. In my past I’ve built many a turbo charged 4 banger, so it became an easy choice. I’m going to be building my own single turbo kit.

I’ll be removing my CJ manifold this weekend and my headers and exhaust next weekend. From there I’ll begin modifying my stock manifolds and getting things mocked up.

I’ll have pictures and updates within a couple of weeks.

Also found these in my mailbox. 4 2.5” v band clamps/flanges. These will be used to route the exhaust from my factory manifolds into the engine bay.

I’m sure it will be challenging, but I think it will turn out well. This coming weekend I’m going to take the headers and exhaust off and I’ll be cutting the cat off of the driver side manifold to put a v-band flange in. That way I can build my kit off of the stock manifold and put the cat and oe stuff back on if I want. On a side note I’ll have headers and an exhaust for sale if anyone is interested

More than likely. The shop I work for works closely with a very reputable tuner. I was talking to him today about my project and he is encouraging me to go twin turbo. We’ll see

My blow off valve was delivered yesterday, but the driver left on my neighbors porch, and their pretending light they don’t know anything about it. F’ing scumbags. I literally have the delivery driver on camera passing my house and leaving a package on the neighbors porch

Sounds like an exciting build for sure. Sorry to hear about the BOV being left at the neighbors though, tough situation there. We build a ton of supercharged Mustangs , so the turbo builds are always a bit more interesting. Have a client with a 2015-17 body style that is outfitted with our race series, sleeved voodoo cross plane longblock that is Precision twin-turbocharged which has to be one of my favorites to date. I am a big fan of trying to participate in the community and see what others are doing to their rides when out at different types of shows and on the forums as well. Don't get to spend as much time on here as I'd like with it being busy season. But I love taking time out to see what other Mustang owner's projects they are working on and seeing guys pushing the envelope further and further as they get used to their current set ups. If anybody is local or planning to head out this way to the Woodward Dreamcruise this weekend , we will have our portable chassis dyno out there all day this coming Saturday.
