Does anyone happen to know what thread size and pitch the tie rod locking nut is? Im trying to take off the e-rack to use on a build and the one side of the car was wrecked which ruined the inner tie rod and nut. I can find the tie rod replacement but no one seems to know what size that nut is. Ive read its an M16 size but dont know the tread pitch. Thanks

I'm pretty sure it's not going to work.

It's completely computerized, and presumably relies on the ECU other sensors and BCMs to work.

It's not just an electric assist, it's many other things.

Thanks for your input, but youre incorrect, it does work and does not rely on those things at all. It looks for a CAN signal for 3-5 seconds and then defaults to a power rack only. There are several people using these on swaps and they work great for that reason. Go look up atp designs (andrews performance), he sells a kit specifically for this rack to be put on old f100's and have also been adapted to supras, older mustangs, crown vics, and the list goes on. The rack has already been mocked up and confirmed working as it should.

If anyone knows the thread size thats all I need

So if Mustang owners disconnect the CAN signal, we would get unfiltered/un-f'd-with steering.

Hmmmmm......

Im not sure on that because I dont know what other systems the mustang computer uses that signal for such as stability, abs, etc etc. im not using any of those systems on this swap so gor me it doesnt matter, i use a power, ground and a 12v ignition to turn it on, thats it.

I can provide a definite answer tomorrow. I have a spare pair of tie rod ends, but they are out in my unlit yard barn.
Plus I have M16 M18 taps etc to see which threads in.
That would be greatly appreciated thanks a lot!
