No, it’s called the “bar b que” tick on the 5.0 forums. I listened to it and it sounds a lot like my car but I rarely hear of 5.2s suffering from it

Ford says it’s normal but I was looking for other examples

That's why I asked "What tick?". The 5.2 doesn't seem to suffer from it - I've never heard of a case on the three forums I'm on - but there are lots of ticks from brakes, wheel hubs, suspension parts and so on. Engine tick, though, not so common.

I have a noise that sounds like a shaft “tick” and hoping it’s not a rod knock

Try adding ceratec to your oil. Worked for my 5.0.




I will add ceratec with all oil from now on personally

It’s been discussed on here quite a bit, but it’s been a while. No new threads on it in quite some time. It is common on the 5.2.

My 350 has it it (since new). it comes and goes. I'm not too worried as i have 28k miles on the car now.
