Thanks for reassuring me, guys. I also don't feel the power automatically justifies these kinds of niggles. Drive a similarly powered manual BMW, Audi or Mercedes, and you'll strain to hear anything at all. Of course, it comes with a more hefty price tag (even in Europe, where the difference is smaller than in the US).

The noise in itself doesn't really bother me much. It's just that I've driven quite a few premium cars, and these kinds of sounds and transmission quirks are very alien to me. If this would have happened in one of my previous Audis or Mercedes, I'd freak the f out.

I'm a little more reassured now that these sounds are normal, and don't mean I'm breaking my car. I gotta admit that I'm head over heels in love with my little EcoBoost (would have preferred the V8, but taxes in Belgium are absolutely horrible), and it puts a huge smile on my face every damn day. 50% of the enjoyment just comes from looking at it, it's really a work of art and a beautiful thing to behold.

About the brake squeal, it's interesting somebody said this is normal too? Do you mean the brakes wear easily or do they just squeal under normal conditions?

Thank you for starting this thread. I have the exact same thing on my GT but mine is quite a bit worse from what I can tell from the video. You can hear it from outside the car from about 10 feet away. Funny thing is that I didn't notice it before I had an MGW and full compliment of BMR suspension put in (sway bars, vertical links, CB005 cradle lock out kit, poly diff bushings) so I naturally assumed some of the bolts had not been torqued down properly and were coming loose. Driven another couple of stock Mustangs and neither of them had it so thought it might be the bushings transferring NVH. I drive the same way you do and felt the same about driving in a sporty way (always use sport mode with traction control off). Makes me feel a bit better someone else has this and the general consensus is that it's ok. I can live with it but just fear something may break if i push it.

Wonder if a 1 piece CF driveshaft from DSS would cure some of the lash?

Just for comparison, when my car was 100% stock, I actually only really noticed the crazy lash when reversing. Now that my car is modified like crazy, I notice it all the time. I explain to people that now that all my suspension and drivetrain is mounted up pretty solid and not absorbing any of the lash shock, that the driving sensation feels as if the engine mount bolts are loose (they arent, its just the easiest way for me to describe it). There is a very noticeable delay between engine accel/decel and vehicle accel/decel.

Same. Never noticed it in reverse or any forward gears when stock (doesn't mean I didn't have any, I just wasn't listening out for it so entirely possible it was there and I never noticed). The sound definitely comes from the rear of the car. Got all the interior trim out at the moment as i'm dynamatting and the lash is very loud. The weight transfer is noticeable almost like a bucking sensation if you come to a stop without putting your foot on the clutch. Not quite as violent as that but significant especially when shifting from 1st to 2nd at any speed.
