I am looking for thoughts from people who have gone from a 16 to a 19, what is better, what isnt as good.

I have had my 16 GT convertible for nearly 3 years, and 21,000 miles. Apart from some very minor issues its been great. I was just thinking about swapping into a new one.

Is the better leather of the custom pack worth it. Is the magnetic suspension worth getting. Is the throttle responce better (not a strong point of the 16). I believe the stereo is better? Is it less bass heavy now, does it have better clarity (yes i know, i should just be listening to the V8!)

I am assuming it would cost about ÂŁ25k to go from one to the other if i tick all the boxes. There are no other desirable manual cars out there, so really its a choice between keeping the old one, or swapping into a new one

No doubt the MY19 is a better car, but for me not worth the cost of upgrading. Lots of smallish improvements but nothing night and day. I would only change if I preferred the looks of the new car, but I still think it looks dreadful in comparison

Swapped from a 16 to a 19, build quality is lot better, it has more power, manual box is better, smoother gear changes, stereo has better clarity, along with a lot more bass and considerably more volume, leather could be unchanged but the Recaros are superb :like:, exhaust is great and Rev matching is superb, sync3 is a vast improvement over sync2, love the new dash, I think the Magneride is worth having as it handles a lot better than the 16 did.
To be honest I can’t think of one thing that is worse or not as good, I could just keeping going with even more things I like
I was thinking when I sold the 16 if it was a good decision or not, but I can now say it was the right thing to do, as this one is a vast improvement and well worth the extra money

Better clutch feel, gearbox not so noisey or notchy.Suspension with magnaride is a winner.HP & torque increase is not really noticeable, still feels a little cheap inside.Love the bonnet vents and DTRL's & active exaust.Digital dash is a bit gimmicky, but maybe ive got use to it now and miss the old dials. The AC got through that hot summer & the Oil cooler hasn't packed up yet.Always liked the shape so it was worth it for me.

Thanks for the thoughts. I know how the spec has changed, but its little things like the better clutch and gearbox feel that is hard to pinpoint without others telling you. Obviously a test drive would answer some of these things, but the local dealers only have old shape Mustangs, and don't employ staff who know much about them either. I have to say i prefer the look of the 2016 model, but the new shape looks better in the metal than it does in photos, but if the whole car is a little better here, and a little better there then it might add up to quite a bit better overall.
