I will be putting up a full build post soon of my GT PP, but just had to jump in to this thread with my thoughts and findings. I am running the Gibson cat back as well, and like the others I must say the sound is amazing! It is fairly loud but if driven softly you can keep it relatively quite.

I'll say this much it takes more than 2 dyno runs for the adaptation of the ECU. I had my work done at HG Motorsports (wouldn't trust anyone else with my car) and they baselined with a number of runs and then put the exhaust on and ran it again (all done same day). The first couple runs with the Gibson netted about the same as you...6 rwhp. But as they ran it more and the ECU adapted, it ended up with 4 back to back pulls around 20 rwhp. One of the coolest things to hear from them was how incredibly consistent this motor is. Every run was within only 1 to 2 rwhp of each other. Most cars very much more due to heat soak.

So there you have it, and here is the dyno sheet (stock on 91 octane with 500 miles on the odo was 391 rwhp, with Gibson 410 rwhp...
Good information! Thanks for sharing.

Power pulls are different than tuning pulls.

My car was on the Dyno for 5 hours that day. For a total of about 14hrs in all.

What was coolant temp at pull #1 and pull #4?

First pulls were 417hp tune only.

Settled in at 408hp tune only. After the exhaust it was 413hp no matter what he tried tuning, not just power pulling. Cooled down, two more back to back pulls. 413hp

My car has 300 miles on it. 80-90 of them are Dyno miles.
Haven't heard "power pull" and "tuning pull" referenced before so not sure what to make of this. For what ever it's worth, since I see you mention "tune", I do not have a tune on my car. It is purely baseline runs and runs with the exhaust. No tunes done at all. Also, not sure what the coolant temp was.

CX'ed my order today. I have horrible memories of drone from my maggy comp catback and do not want to go through that again. My garage also faces my next door neighbor so every morning @ 6AM they'd be getting a nice wake up if it's really that loud.

Yeah, my neighbors didn't like how loud my STI was and they left me a letter in the mail box. I put ear plugs in their mail box the next day:)

Cold start is pretty loud on this exhaust...I'm sure my neighbors don't like me, but I'm sure they didn't like my catless stage 2 WRX either. This exhaust is loud when you get on it, but nice and deep at normal driving RPM's and throttle loads. It does drone a bit at low RPM's on the freeway under load.

+1, no idea what power pull vs. tuning pull would be. Unless he is talking about some unsafe glory pull with tune parameters way out there.

What is the dynojet comparison mode all about? What were the actual dyno dynamics numbers?

Please explain what you mean power pull and tuning pull and how they are different.

I think he means when a tuner is tuning your car, they only do partial pulls while monitoring all the parameters. This would be a tuning pull. They only go to 3k RPM's, etc.

The dyno dynamics mode is called "heartbreak" mode, because that is what it does to everyone...the numbers are crazy low. To be honest I have no idea why they are like that. I think it was something crazy unrealistic like 330 or so. They said the dyno jet mode is very accurate to an actual dyno jet.

Oh and on the cold start comments...yes I agree. Cold start is LOUD. Sounds bad ass but definitely not neighbor friendly. I had to leave at 6:30am in the morning on Saturday for Cars and Coffee and cold not bring myself to start it in the garage, so I rolled it out onto the driveway to hit start as opposed to the garage echo chamber. :D

Yeah, I live in a condo and have neighbors windows right outside my garage. I'm sure they didn't like my 6am startup when it was 38* last Sunday. Haha.

I don't think it is a dyno dynmics 'mode' as that is what the dyno is.

I have used dyno dynamics before and know they read low. Just seems to me that they would be the numbers you'd want vs. some calculated number based on the dyno dynamics number.

If you can get them, I'd be curious to see how they compared (even though you can't really compare...) to the DD pulls I did with my 135i.

I don't know, maybe. His post didn't read like that.

Yeah dyno dynamics is not a mode, it is the type of dyno that they have. I went back through my texts and found it. Drum roll......

Baseline 333.5 hp
Gibson 349.6 hp

:eyebulge:

For comparison sake, most of us know that the F80 M4/M3 are putting out to the wheels what their crank rating is, on HG's Dyno Dynamics the M4 put down 360 hp, when there usual "real world" dyno jet numbers are around 420 at the wheels.
