So, I've had this exhaust on for about 2.5 months now and it started to develop this raspy rattling noise during acceleration. I initially thought it was a heat-shield hitting the exhaust, but it wasn't. I checked everything nearby and nothing is touching the exhaust. After getting the car in the air, it sounds like its coming from inside the muffler. It's a metal on metal raspy sound so I can only assume that one of the welds on the internal baffles broke and it's rattling about in there during revs.

Has anyone else experienced this? I contacted Gibson about a warranty claim today.

I have not. Still sounds like a pissed off v8 when I rev and hammer.

So I finally got around to replacing the bad (driver-side) muffler. After removal and inspection, it appears that the muffler split right down the middle, lengthwise where the can is welded. That's what was vibrating during acceleration creating the rattling heat shield sound. Gibson sent me a new muffler and all is well.

Thumbs up for Gibson and their great customer support team!!!:clap2:

Mine seems to have broken in a little bit more. Sounds even better.

put mine on 2 days ago. the rear clamps suck hang too low. i angled them and cut down the threads sticking down the lowest. tailpipes arent lined up perfect but im no expert muffler guy. sound good and i like the tailpipes. flaw in one pipe on the xpipe it had some wrinkled tubing. cant wait to hear it with some stainless works headers with no cats!

Ya those clamps that come with the exhaust are a joke get yourself some of these I've had them on there for months now. Makes it look really clean. Not gunna be scraping on speed bumps rocks curbs or wherever you go with your car. Got mine off ebay for 10 bucks well worth it IMO not that many people are poking there head under my car and telling me that it was ugly. It just bothered me it was hanging down. There is a link earlier in the thread about those clamps by another guy. He had the right idea! May be what is rattling on some other peoples exhaust... those exhaust clamps that come with it are awful and never really seal correctly.

Check those stupid exhaust clamps they give you all my rasp in my exhaust went away when i got those 3 inch lap joint clamps. make sure its not touching the pumpkin on the drivers side.... mine was really close for some reason and if i centered it exactly in the cutout it would touch so i had to twist it 1/4" away.
