Hello,

I was recently thinking about blacking out my 2015 Black V6 Mustang. I’ve seen a few pictures of blacked-out s550’s and thought they looked pretty good.

I just wanted to know your guys thoughts on murdered-out cars. Are they ricey? Especially since I only have a v6.
Also would this catch cops attention more than my car already does?

Personally, I've never been crazy about that look. IMHO, that aesthetic comes across a little unimaginative, and by extension, can make the car look cheap. Us V6'ers don't need any help in that dept ; )

But that's just my .02.

Can look great when done right - tint, nice wheels, black badging, tinted lights -

just dont get too nuts with it and add "ricey" stuff

It's your car, do what makes you happy. If someone complains and bitches about it, tell them to pay your car payments and then they can critique and tell you what to do.

Black is the best looking color. I have black rims on a black car with 25 tint and blacked out GT and 5.0 badges. Wouldn't have it any other way.

black wheels are fine but when you start doing headlights, tail lights, etc., it starts getting "ricey"

My thoughts, since you asked:

Blacking out everything is terrible. Cars need a little contrast. Black out the headlights, and tails and you're asking for tickets. Also, how well it's executed matters. Will you plastidip everything, leave the car at stock height? Cause it's gonna get ricey quick.

The whole murdered out look is so yesterday, and too overdone. Mustangs have so many colors and upgrades available that you can make some cool changes and not look like the civics and mitsus that are riced out. Just look at many of the cars on this forum for some ideas and have some fun with yours.

Its funny..if i dont like it its rice...
Just go all out on it if you like it. Ive seen some blacked out camaros and i mean front to back from the lights right down to the calipers with only red brembo stickers and red ss emblem and they look amazing! Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesnt.

If you like it go for it.

But if you're doing it to impress others and want others opinion, it's one of the most played out cosmetic mods. Every mustang guy who wants to be "badass" does it, and they gave it the name "murdered out" to up their street cred. Its a bit cringey at this point.

Personally on black cars I think silver colored wheels look best when done right

I'm somewhat biased to the blacked out look. I think it looks good if it's done the right way. My car doesn't look half bad
