Yes rear gears do increase torque to the wheels. Glad your happy, I'm still waiting for mine too arrive.

Yes more torque to the wheels as it has a higher torque multiplication. My problem was finally taken care of. It was the tune all along everything else was done correctly. I just don’t get why the Lund rep I talked to said it was the bdm not the pcm so it wasn’t the tunes issue. But I guess he doesn’t know what he’s talking about. But now that I can drive it normal it’s a totally different ride, I fish tailed in 3rd gear. The pick up now is amazing with the 4.09 gears. Btw do gears give you more torque or is it all about the rpms? But it’s really fun to drive it now.
Also lowers top speed though, possible extra shift towards the end of your 1/4 mile, alters mpg etc. But for a manual dd just looking for a stronger low and mid it does the trick for sure.Yes more torque to the wheels as it has a higher torque multiplication.

Also, I thought gears don't actually change the torque, they just manipulate them. Will torque #s actually change on a dyno after increasing gears?
If your car is a manual the change from 3.55 to 3.73 is very slight, and you probably won't even notice it. If you are going through the expense go with the 4.09s.@Marketplaza you have manual non PP1. So you had 3.55 gears and went to 4.09, correct? Good to hear you like how it feels. I have same but I think 3.73 will do the trick for me personally. Let us know how regular daily driving is with 4.09, Especially on the highway. I just want a little more kick in acceleration, I dont drag race, mainly street.
Yeah, I think due to costs I would be pissed if there wasnt much difference. So, your probably right, maybe 4.09 would be best. I just dont want to drive on highway with gears or engine humming in high RPMs all the time, I guess I would finally use 6th gear though lolIf your car is a manual the change from 3.55 to 3.73 is very slight, and you probably won't even notice it. You will be fine due to the MT82D4 having 2 overdrive gears.Yeah, I think due to costs I would be pissed if there wasnt much difference. So, your probably right, maybe 4.09 would be best. No issuesHi just to make sure, does the 4.09 gears fit in the 3.55 stock differential and does the speedometer need to be recalibrated when changing gears on an 18+ Mustang GT? Thanks.
Ok cool. I'll PM you my cell #.If your in San Antonio contact me, I know a guy that does great gear work. Wished I still lived there so I could get him to do mine.
