Have you guys seen decrease traction with the warmer temperatures? How about excessive wear?

So in case you live in a cave we have one of the strongest El Niño phenomenon occurring since the late 90s. This will bring unusual warm and rainy weather to this season. There is a possibility we could see massive winter storms every now and then.

Temps here where I live are usually 20-30 degrees in December but have been in the 50s lately.

Dont want to put winter tires and by the spring have worn winter tires.

50 degrees isn't bad, just don't do burnouts. Michigan winters are wacky, sun comes out and sometimes it's 60 out during January. As long as the weather is under 40 degrees
F the majority of the time and you are driving like a crazy person, you're gold

Ah, good ol' misery weather, something I don't miss.

I got Blizzak LM60's, and I'm not real impressed with the traction. It's dry and 46 degrees today, and I broke them loose just giving a little extra gas in 4th gear. They are 10x better than the p-zeros in the cold though.

Not sure about wear (first-time user of winter tires)

Where in MO are you? My Mom and Brother live in Eldon, MO. I am running Conti. DWS Extreme Contact DWS-06's and I couldn't be happier. Here in Reno NV, we're really getting some weird "El Nino" weather. We've had at least 1 storm each week for the past 5 weeks, and next week there's a string of storms that are supposed to hit. Two weeks ago we were in the upper teens and low 20's, and today it's supposed to be close to 60. I pretty much drive my car like I did on the P-Zero's during the summer time and I haven't had a bit of trouble. Now I didn't do that when there was snow on the ground, but in rain snow mode it's been great.
Hope this helps.

50F is the switchover point where winter tires start to get more grip so you're not really accelerating wear when you're in the 60s. The biggest issue with winters in really warm weather is you start to lose cornering performance because the sidewalls get squishy.

RallyX guys will drive pretty long distances to events on winter tires in the middle of summer. The road wear is minimal for them, wear from the track is another story...
