Hi everyone... I live in Toronto, Canada and I recently bought my first Mustang 2019. I currently have summer tires. PP1 package came with Brembo brakes and the tire size on the door reads the following.
Front : 255/40zr19 100y
Rear : 275/40zr19 105y.
I am planning to drive at least 3 times a week during winter. When should I change to winter tires? Can I have the summer tires until end of November and change them to winter tires? Also what size and brand is recommended for winter tires? Any advice is helpful. Thank you so much for your help in advance

I'm debating the thought of turning my Mustang into a daily this winter. I'm just north of TO and drive 65km one way to work. (Brampton)

Was looking at getting a different set of winter rims/tires and keeping the PP rims for summer.

Summer tires are brutal below 7c. I've driven a handful of times around 0deg and it driving lightly. Couldn't imagine what there like in snow.

We do sometimes get snow in Nov and summers are not recommended. I change to winters beginning of November.

Change over this month. It's getting too cold overnight to keep running summers for much longer. The summers will flat spot while parked and the ride will be shit until you get heat in them which takes longer and longer. I'd rather put extra wear on my winters for the few days left in the year we go up to the teens(Calgary here) and keep the summers(which see much harder use and higher speeds) from freezing and added abuse.

If you're going to park the car any time it really snows, I'd recommend pilot Alpins for their higher speed rating, and far superior dry grip compared to more snow oriented winter tires. They do well enough in snow deep enough to get pushed by the splitter and are really good on ice or hard packed.

I currently have Nokians which are awesome in deep snow and slush but are spin city on bare pavement. Passing on a two lane with them is sketchy as they'll spin above 150kph.

Yeah, we received 30cm or so in Calgary, around 55-60 down south. Lowest I saw was - 9 at the house.
