@bigG, whats the craic with that one? Was someone out a test drive or something?
Yeah salesman took it out for a test drive, gave it the beans on a roundabout (rookie mistake #1), back went one way, he tried to correct it and smashed into a wall then bounced across the road, mounted a kerb and into a field.

My dealers GT was the first one in the UK smashed up so at least you dont have that honour!

As for parts i believe it took around 6 weeks to get the parts for theirs, it needed new bumper, rear quarter, boot lid & wheel.

Once you're back on the road it might be worth investing in a dashcam, that would at least have shown him approaching at speed. Glad you're ok though, metal can be repaired, people can't.
Its terrible to say, but you've just made my day! i didn't want to be the first! lol. Do you know how long it took for repairs??

Aw man, at least nobody got hurt.
I am still in pain from 'kerbing an alloy last week - can't imagine your turmoil :brokenheart:
Hope they can put it back together quickly for you

As others have said, seen a lot worse. You'll be back on the road in your stang in no time. That's what insurance is for

And that was his last pay cheque i assume....p45 in the post, must be so tempting for some of these dealers use to selling the odd family hatchbacks and people carriers.

This really sucks man, I would be so distraught if this happened to me.
Btw was it Manders Mustang in the Corsa?
No mines white mate, black alloys, black roof, black wing mirrors and all that the 'limited edition' ones :). and i'd probably have just given him the keys to my corsa had i crashed into his mustang as a sorry because i'd feel like total sh1te.

I'm glad you're alright though, as people have said, people can't be replaced but the car, can be :)

Lets not talk about dealers during PDI and smashing up cars, it'll be my luck... (no 'Not in an ecoboost' jokes please )

Feel the pain! Sorry to hear. At least you'll be putting miles on the loan car rather than your own.

The fact is, parts can be flown over from the states in a matter of days, so there is no reason it should be off the road for ages.
But this is expensive, so it depends on the attitude of the repairer/insurance company. Got a Chrysler in for accident repair (insurance job) at the moment. Been a month waiting for parts. Was told that they wait to fill a container before shipping over (on a slow boat presumably).

ouch, but shit happens, as long as both drivers and passengers are ok that's all that matters in the end.

For sure you are not the first in Europe.

First one in Spain was back in November. A young chap (24 years old) crashed a dealer demo GT just 50 meters away from where they started (dealer main door).

I actually asked someone at the dealership about that - a dealer was driving but they had a customer in the passenger seat! I think that would've put me off buying one.

I'm not sure who did it, but I asked Terrance (my dealer) and he said the perpetrator does indeed still work there. They've put it down as just an honest accident when in reality these cars only bite if you're being a tit.

Yeah it was Roy, took a guy out who wanted one on Motability  they told him no chance but decided to take him out in it anyway just to stop him pestering them. Happened at the roundabout next to the Harvester/Golf place at the top of Newcastle Road before heading down towards the Greyhound Stadium. Took that roundabout too quick, doubt any of them are used to RWD to be honest.
