If you want fast spool and excellent street manners you get the fast spooling turbo. If you have the tire/suspension to hold it at the track you are going to go faster than any slower spooling turbo... By slower spool, I was shooting for 400-600rpms slower spool with the 7670. Not the 1500-1700 slower spool you have with a stock frame upgrade.

So the difference between the 7163 that you use to recommend vs the 7670 is 450 whp max and to get anymore we would need a built long block vs the 7670 600+ with just a shortblock?

like adam said, the twinscroll 7163 is a 450-500hp max turbo. Its ideal for 99% of mustang ecoboost big turbo builds. Internet posts do not do this turbo justice, it will make you love the ecoboost 2.3L.

On the other hand an EFR7670 is a 500-550hp turbo (600max) and still spools very well, but not rabid tq like the 7163.

The limitation on stock block that I'LL tune a customers motor to is 450whp with race gas, or port injection with ethanol (E30-E85).

I think vargas shouldnt sweat it, theyre by far the cheapest option, theyre gonna have a lot of customers. That said the 7163 speaks to me down the line, a basically exagerated stock powerline sound fun like hell

Not sweating it in the slightest, our stage 2 is the most cost effective way to get 500WHP capability on the market bar none, not too mention it holds more power up to than the 7163, while sacrificing a little down low. I actually prefer the way the car drives now to be honest. It's much more civilized, and will take care of business when asked. We will have these in stock next week. We are also casting a similar turbo for the Ford Focus RS, it's already in the molding phase. Lots of cool stuff on the horizon!

Adam, do you have spool data on the Garrett GTX2867R?

Here is a link to the turbo kit just for anybody that missed it. I haven't had one on the dyno yet but comparing it to the 5558 kits I have tuned the power ability is going to be the same, but the spool is about 300rpms sooner, and the response time in between gears with the GTX2867R is amazing.

GTX2867R - 25psi @ 3350rpms starting at 2500rpm.
5558 Ball Bearing - 25psi @ 3700rpms starting at 2500rpm.
