I thought it was 209k plus the mustang. I guess 200-300k what's the difference. Just never saw where it was 300k or maybe I got misinformation

So there's another similar thread floating around on here - and I posted this in it - anyone know?

Does anyone know if the (30) Code Reds that are to be built will be the “body in white” which is a NO VIN issued vehicle like the Cobra Jets?
I'm asking from the aspect of it not being "street legal", because "body-in-whites" do not come with a VIN and can't be legally titled through DMV or driven on the streets.

It’s eliminating the stock ECU in favor of a Motec, that is racing use only—not street legal.

I like to disassemble things.
This is what it looks like to me but I don't know the exact piece they're using

Nope. It isn't an add on/extension - a good thing.

Shelby has or had a business relationship with Anderson and my hunch is that wing being shown is an Anderson and Shelby got Anderson to supply a custom, elongated, upright. Shelby could have had it done locally too, so until we get more information we just don't know.

On Edit : further thoughts.

The photos on Shelby's website are of a prototype and I'm assuming what we see is pretty close to what they will be selling. It would have made sense to use a base car as Shelby was making quite a few changes anyway and they could actually save a few dollars on it. I took a photo of the CR car from their website and enlarged it to illustrate what I see anyway.

Of note and from top to bottom, what I see.

- the flange the comes down from the wing that attaches to the top of the upright, note how it has some issues with the finish. Nothing against Anderson but what I see is similar to what I saw on the wing I got from them. I have not seen that on OEM Track Pack wings.

- Anderson supplies (or at least they did with mine) some foam or rubber washers that go under the head of the fasteners. The OEM CFTP doesn't do this. The head of the stainless washer is different than OEM as well and looks like what I got from Anderson.

- The rippled finish is something you see often on aluminum pieces that have been coated (guessing powdercoating here). I haven't really noticed that on any chopped fiber OEM uprights.

Correct - "not street legal", but does it have a VIN or no?

Shelby had a Code Red in Michigan this weekend - probably at Woodward Dream Cruise (not sure because I didn't go down this year).

But they had a display with a Code Red set up for our MOCSEM Mustang Memories show on Sunday. It was in a trailer when I looked at it, running. I didn't have time to talk with the rep because I was working the show but grabbed a couple of quick pictures. The interior didn't look like a "body in white" because it had the full interior with a cage. No idea if it is street legal, but it appeared to be.

Interesting! Thanks for sharing the images.

So based on the few images of that "Code Red", usually with a VIN'd Production Shelby, the Shelby CSM BUC riveted to the driver side inner fender (and any applicable interior CSM Dash Plate) has the VIN above the CSM #.

In that image above of the Code Red fender BUC, it has no VIN, so I'm assuming (at this point) these don't come with a VIN at all - like the body in white S197 & S550 Cobra Jets.

Maybe someone else in the know can definitely confirm for Code Reds.

How could they remove your vin? You drive your car to Shelby. It has a vin. I don’t believe they can remove it…Am I missing something?
